What made that mess

So today I'll show you what made that mess that was on my desk in  yesterday's post. It all started with a toilet paper roll. Most people would just throw them away after the toilet paper is gone. I do sometimes but then other times I think I should save those to use for craft projects. Unfortunately I don't always use them. I get tired of seeing them laying around and throw them away only to start collecting them again in a week or so.

I happen to have a few laying around and I had wanted to make leprechaun hats to hold candy. I like to give treats to the people at work that I like. You know, the ones who don't try to put me in to respiratory distress.

Armed with toilet paper rolls, paper, glue and a few other odds and ends, I made these.

I can't decide if I like the plain green ones better or the ones with patterned paper .

Here's a closer look at just one. I cut each toilet paper roll in half to get two 2" high hats. I wrapped the rolls with the paper then added a hat band with buckle and glued it all on to the bottom. Now to fill them with some candy. I thought either some butterscotch candies since the color is goldish or something wrapped in a gold wrapper.

Oh and on the bottom you see that green squiggly line. That is green glitter glue. Gotta have the bling.

  1. These are really cute! I can't decide either. I like both kinds equally. That would be a job, to get them covered with paper so smoothly.

  5. Oh I definitely prefer the pattered paper. Gold-paper wrapped candy would be perfect.

  8. Never thought of making those with the rolls! I usually collect them for recycling. For awhile Lily played with them all the time then it was like she out grew them.
