ENT

OVR ( office of vocational rehabilitation) approved an appointment with the ENT to be checked for hearing aids. I had my appointment on Monday. We discussed the different options and now she will be submitting the request to OVR. Time to wait for another approval from them. At least it's making forward progress.

While I was there I saw the physicians assistant who checked my ears, and looked at my test. He told me I have about a 50% hearing loss. I told him that would explain why I can only hear people half the time.

Came home from work yesterday and had to mow the lawn again. This time I was able to get the riding mower started however I couldn't get the parking break off. It was back to the broken push mower. I really hate that thing. I can only hope that there are not too many more mowing days left before winter hits.

  1. Be sure and wear ear protection when you mow. Most people around here do, as well as Phil. Oh gosh, you have had way too much trouble with the mowers I'm sorry..it must be so frustrating. Not what you after a hard day at work on your feet.

  2. I can understand your frustration with the hearing situation...I have noticed quite a drop in what I can actually hear too. I sure hope that your mowing situation improves although it should end pretty quickly with fall/winter settling in!!

    1. The hearing has gotten progressively worse and I'm convinced that it's from the exhaust fans at work that are right behind me most of the day. They are really loud. I could be wrong but that's my theory

    1. The case worker I met with through OVR even told me that they work slow. She said they get things done but it's always a slow process

  6. I hope you have good luck with your hearing device, let us know, we might need to soon! I hear pretty well, I just don't understand what was said. But I can hear a car door close a block away. Presley is just adorable.

  7. Good luck with your hearing aids, hope you get them soon. My dad should really get some but he's very reluctant to. I just feel bad when he can't hear us when we are all together. One on one if you talk slow and clear he can. I sure hope yours work out for you!!! :)

    1. I watch the guys who mow for the doctors office behind my house. They zoom around that lot with those mowers. Amazing how fast they can go.
