You may or may not know that Wade used to make light bulbs. His job description was incandescent mechanic. He did that for over 30 years. He was quite proud of the light bulbs he made as they last way longer than any you would buy in the store. He knew it was only a matter of time before his job would end. Since I first met him, I never needed to buy a light bulb. He would always bring them home from the shop.
I opened up a drawer the other day, saw all these light bulbs and realized that he still lights up my life.
Awww, a sad image for sure. I didn't know this about him. I have never known anyone who makes light bulbs.
ReplyDeleteHe made lightbulbs for a very long time. It's what he knew best. He worked for a couple different companies but doing the same thing.
DeleteOh! That is so precious. I'm so glad you had him even if he left too soon.
ReplyDeleteYes, me too
Delete(((((((((((megahugs)))))))))))) XOXOXO
ReplyDeleteThanks
DeleteI had no idea that is what he did. it is good you have that drawer to light up your life, bulbs are expensive and you have enough there for years of light. I did not even know people could make lightbulbs. never really thought about it. now we know. hugs
ReplyDeleteWhat a fun thing to have happen, to find all those light bulbs. Ann, you have a great day.
ReplyDeleteIf I look hard enough I'll probably find more in other parts of the house. He was always bringing them home for someone
DeleteAww, that is so sweet.
ReplyDeleteisn't it though :)
DeleteThat is so unique!!!
ReplyDeleteYes he still lights up your live. What a lovely post. Made me sad, but made me smile too.
ReplyDeleteHave a fabulous day, Ann. Big hug to you and lots of scritches to Gibbs. ♥♥♥
Same here, sad yet with a smile
DeleteThat is so interesting! Sweet post.
ReplyDeleteI am sitting here smiling because Wade still 'lights up your life'.
ReplyDeleteSweet post dear Ann. Love & hugs ~ FlowerLady
Ann, I have just discovered you from over at CM blog...that is a wonderful post, and I've learnt something: people actually make light bulbs. Funny how we don't think about certain little objects/necessities of regular life...
ReplyDeleteWell I'm glad you stopped by. It's always nice to have new friends visit.
DeleteThe shop that my husband worked at is no longer making light bulbs. After incandescent light bulbs were no longer allowed to be sold in the US, they were shipping them overseas for a while. Then it go to the point where they couldn't even get the materials they needed to make the bulbs. Sad really because I prefer the good old incandescent light bulbs to the LEDs
That's really sweet! And that last post, just how many snowmen can Ann have?
