Looks like a red squirrel. We mainly have brown. And they can be the biggest pest around. I buy safflower seeds instead of sunflower, cost a tad more but last longer cause birds love and squirrels will not eat it. I was filling my feeder...oops I mean LILY'S feeder a couple times a day but then a friend told me about this so I changed. I bought one bag this summer and it lasted all summer. Right now though, they are feeding heavy in preparing for cold weather so I am filling the feeder more often. Great pics.
I love the little buggers - tho when I had a house with a backyard and trees they did get greedy raiding the bird feeders but that was okay - I made sure there was enough for all...
They can be both adorable and frustrating! If they are running around the yard, ok... but once we had them in the ceiling/closets upstairs and that was NO fun. LOL
he or she is a real cutie!!! I like squirrels better than birds, so just rename your feeder squirrel feeder and keep on Snapping

ReplyDeleteOh, such a sweetie. I always throw feed on the ground, too. For birds that feed on the ground. But also gives the squirrels something.
ReplyDeleteSquirrels do not scare easily. I love watching their antics. They are so determined and resourceful. Favorite is the last one in the center.
