I'm rather fond of mums yet I have none in my yard. I've thought about getting some potted ones and sitting them out on my porch but chances are they wouldn't last long. I tend to forget to water things in pots.
I went all the way back to 2016 today and found these pictures of mums in my archives. I'm not really sure where I saw them.
My dad's sister Mary (my favorite aunt) had lots of mums this next color all along the one side of her house.
The first ones are my favorite, with their pretty double color. We have bought big pots of mums before, and taken good care of them. But they STILL die!! Same with petunias.
ReplyDeleteI am cheap to the bone and find it difficult to buy potted plants, knowing they will only live a short while. I do like them though and like the pink ones best here. my Philomena plant is dying and i have no idea why. she is 2 years old and i think the AC running from april until now is the reason. we have never had AC on this long.she looks straggly.
ReplyDeleteLove the colors! I might try growing some...Wonder how fast they'll die? lolol

I decided not to buy mums this year for the same reason you mentioned. I usually pot them on the front porch and then forget to water them because we always enter through the garage and not the front door.
ReplyDeleteI think they're one of those plants that need some special attention so no good for me. But I do love to see them and dahlias. So bright and cheerful.
ReplyDeleteThose mums are so pretty. We don't buy them either since they are short lived in the Fall.
ReplyDeleteI've tried planting mums in years past but they always die.
ReplyDeleteUsually get a couple in the pots to put on the porch.
I love mums, but I haven't bought any in years. Thanks!
ReplyDeleteI like mums, too, but dont have any.
ReplyDeleteVery pretty photos of your mums. I like them too but don't have any in the garden. I was thinking of buying a couple of pots and putting them on each side of the front door.
