I suppose that may be stretching it a bit. This isn't ancient and it's hardly an artifact. It is however another very old project that I started about 12 years ago and finally finished.
I found a hand stitched piece that I had stuffed in a tote filled with embroidery floss. I never got any further than finished the stitched design. I decided to turn it into a small runner.
The homespun fabric paired well with the design.
Here's a closer look at the stitching.

It is really nice. Looks like farmhouse chic!!
ReplyDeleteI love the stitching.
ReplyDeletethis took me back to my ancient history of mother spending her time doing stitching like this. she loved embroidery and also loved runners or anything she could put on top of my grandmothers lace table cloth.. Keep digging around, who knows what treasurers you will unearth to finish.. I need to go through my closets and cabinets because I have now forgotten what is in there and it does no good if I don't know I have it.
ReplyDeleteIt is so satisfying to finish something, particularly if it's been hanging around for a while. Lovely!
ReplyDeleteGreat job on getting long time projects finished. It's really cute.
