Another day in the park

Yet another walk through the park. I tend to take a lot of pictures of wildflowers and water

I was walking across one of the bridges and I stopped to look at the water before I headed back to the car. Before I left I turned around to look at the other side and couldn't believe what I saw.

These didn't upload in the right order but I kept getting a little closer and then zoomed in for the one you see next. When I zoom this much on my phone it doesn't take a very good picture but it was good enough.

I have seen plenty of these birds in pictures but have never spotted one around here. I happened to turn around and when I looked back this guy was flying off. I should have stayed put just a little longer. I might have been able to capture his take off.

  4. What a magical moment in the park! Your spontaneous decision to turn around led to a rare and beautiful sighting one of those little gifts nature gives when we least expect it.

Even if the zoom wasn’t perfect, the memory is priceless. It’s amazing how a quiet walk can turn into something unforgettable.

    Great post

  16. Glad you got to see one in person. There is at least one in he neighborhood that we see fly over. Probably more than one, but only see one at a time. They go to the retention ponds.
