Lunch out with a friend

I was feeling a bit down the one day because I had just gotten a call that I was not chosen for a job that I interviewed for. I texted my friend that I used to work with and told her I didn't get the job. She asked if I needed some human contact and suggested we go out to lunch.

We went to a place that neither one of us had ever been to. It's called the All Aboard Dinor.

The place isn't much to look at on the inside but the staff was friendly and the food was good. It sits right next to the railroad tracks and we did watch a train go by while we were there.

The train was also running inside the dinor. The track runs all the way around the whole place.

When we went to the register to pay they had a sign saying they offered a senior citizen discount for anyone over 60. I said to my friend, that's me. Enough said because the girl gave me the dicount.

  2. Good you got the discount on your lunch. Sorry you didn't get the job. Here in Montreal you usually only get a call when you are chosen and no call if you are not chosen. Sending you a hug 🫂 🤗 ❤️

  7. I'm sorry you didn't get the job, Ann. But I'm glad you had an in-person friend who came to your rescue. Those are the best type of friends to have, for sure. I have no one like that. What a darling diner (or should I say "dinor"). Sometimes the places that look so-so from the outside have the best doggone food. I'm glad that was the case with this place. I've often thought I'd like to live by a train so I could hear the whistle. My husband's grandma lived right next to the tracks. ~Andrea xoxo

  20. At least being a senior is good for something. Some of the places that don't look like much serves the best food!
