The last time I posted about my peonies, they hadn't bloomed yet. These pictures were taken on the 7th and 8th
You may recall me posting that I used an old tomato cage turned upside down to try and keep these from ending up on the ground. It never fails. After these bloom it rains and they all end up laying on the sidewalk and that's just about the end of them. This year, as usual, it poured after the peonies bloomed. Thanks to the tomato cage, they are still standing tall and looking beautiful. They may be a little crowded in the cage but at least they are lasting longer.
Great way to preserve these beautiful peonies.
ReplyDeleteThe cage was an inspired idea, a product of your creative mind. They are gorgeous! Fluffy and the palest blush pink!!
ReplyDeleteThe cage is doing a grand job and the flowers are simply gorgeous.
ReplyDeletewhat a great idea! they are beautiful and I LOVE the back side of it as much as the front and maybe more
ReplyDeleteYour peonies are absolutely beautiful, Ann. And what a great idea....a tomato cage to keep them upright. I think my peony is too big for a tomato cage but this year I tied a string around the blooms, to help them stay up. It wasn't the greatest solution but it helped a little. I love your tomato cage idea!! ~Andrea xoxo
ReplyDeleteI had former co-workers who divided their peonies so I got some freebies! Love yours. Their blooms do not last long enoug for me to enjoy. Although this year we had a cooler than normal spring so they lasted until the end of May in sc PA♥
ReplyDeleteAnn they are 100 kinds of gorgeous. Wow love that dusty pink and the hints of red. They look wonderful standing tall too

ReplyDeleteThese are gorgeous, Ann! Thank you for posting. It's sad they never last long, though.
ReplyDeleteThey are so gorgeous!! One of my favorite flowers.
ReplyDeleteSo pretty! I used to enjoy my neighbor's blooms in Chicago...and we both moved...so I suppose I have to plant my own. They smell so lovely!
ReplyDeleteThey are so beautiful. Thanks for sharing.
ReplyDeleteI miss my peonies at my old house but it used to drive me crazy how fast they would just fall down!
ReplyDeleteGreat idea using the tomato cage. Your peonies are gorgeous!
ReplyDeleteRachel has these things she puts over hers...not exactly a cage but they are wire...however she did not get them out, and yep, hers ended up on the ground because of rain. These are beautiful...they look lighter than hers. I would not mind having them in all colors.
