Yummy Stuff

I confess, I have a sweet tooth. I try not to keep too much in the house because I just have no self control when it comes to yummy stuff.

In the past I've made 3,2,1 cake in a mug. I actually still have some of the mix left. You mix an angel food cake mix with any flavor of regular cake mix. Then when you want a treat, in a mug you put 3 tablespoons of the mix, 2 tablespoons of water and microwave for 1 minute.

I had a craving for apple crisp so I went looking for a single serving recipe. I found this one.

It was edible but it really didn't fit the bill. I probably won't make it again and I didn't even remember to take a picture of it.

Then I found this one for a brownie in a mug.

It was definitely tasty. It was a bit on the gooey side but it could be because I didn't wait for it to sit at all. I just dug right in. It's not the prettiest looking dessert but it hit the spot.

Last but not least was a little experiment. I had a can of the refrigerated croissant rolls. I popped them out of the can and before rolling them up I added a little yumminess to the inside. Half I spread with a cinnamon flavored spreadable cream cheese and the other half I spread on some raspberry filling. Both versions were very tasty.

And this, is why I can't lose weight.

  1. I am going to try the cake mix idea! My doctor told me that it is impossible to lose weight after you are 70, which I am over considerably. Unless of course you use some kind of drug. So I just need to stop trying so hard and just concentrate on not gaining any more. But even that is hard!

  2. Those look really yummy, Ann. Before I became diabetic (10 years ago now), I tried some of the "cake in a mug" things & they never turned out for me. But maybe the recipes are more refined by now. I'm guessing I tried them when the idea first came out. ~Andrea xoxo

  3. that is my addiction, sugar. and like alcohol, the more we eat/drink the more we want. look for a recipe that is sugar free, I had one but no idea where it is. and Ginny's doctor has no idea what he is talking about, I was 73 when I started my sugar free diet and I lost 70 lbs and just lost 7 more at age 80.
I wonder what would happen if you took a small amount of brownie mix and cooked it in a mug

  6. those croissants look very good and how simple they would be to make. I never think of things like this, but I've made a mental note for the next time I am craving sweets.

  8. I ask myself the same question - just after I've eaten a whole bag of Maltesers.
