First snow of the season

Monday November 10th we got our first snowfall of the season. I knew it was coming but it's always a bit of a shock when I first see it. This was when I got up and went to let Gibbs out.

By the time I was ready to leave for work it had stopped snowing and the drive in wasn't bad at all. It didn't snow much at all during the day and when I left to head home it was clear. I got on the interstate and was about half way to my exit when things started to get worse. There was a long line of traffic, the visibility was poor and everything was moving at about 35 miles an hour or slower. I had a death grip on the steering wheel and said a little prayer. I finally made it to my exit and the closer I got to home the clearer it got. By the time I made it home there was no snow again.

I'm glad you escaped most of it, but sorry you had to drive through any of it. That's always scary, :(

Driving in snow is the worst. Glad you got back safely!

Most Southeast Asian countries, including my country Indonesia, do not have four seasons. Because we are located near the equator, the climate is tropical and warm throughout the year. Instead of spring, summer, autumn, and winter, these countries experience a rainy season and a dry season. Some places may also have a short cool season, but it’s not like winter. Overall, Southeast Asia’s weather stays warm, humid, and consistent all year long.

For me personalty, I have never been in abroad, I wish I could touch snow I knew Snow only through movies, and youtube videos

I’m sorry you have to deal with that cold and wet stuff! Just be careful and don’t get in a hurry. It’s been rainy here and warm but this morning it’s cooler…56F…and all of the coming week, in the 60 and 70’s…40 and 50’s at night.
I guess Winter is at all our doorsteps. Hugs to you and Gibbs! 🩷

I do the grip on the steering wheel when driving here but its not the cold white stuff its the traffic full of angry and fast driving humans. Now that I think about it I have lived in snow, for 5 years in KY but have never driven in it. I have been back in the deep hot south since I was 15, I have driven in rain so hard that when we got out of the car we were ankle deep in water in the parking lot of the blood lab office

Driving in poor conditions makes us very tense. I'm glad you got home safely.

Dog gone it I'm so sorry for the scary ride on the interstate.
Very thankful you got home safely. I'm guessing during the winter the interstates are cleared regularly...

SCARY! And of course as soon as you are home, it stopped!! I didn't know you had to drive interstate when going to work, that is the worst in the snow because everyone is going so fast.

I don't blame you for the death grip on your wheel. I have never driven in snow but have enjoyed it when going up to Lake Tahoe in the winter. No snow here yay

Driving in the dark in the first few snowfalls is always stressful, I think. Glad you made it home okay!

I enjoy winter BUT ... don't enjoy many of the trucks on the roads. Glad you made it home safe.

Thankfully I don't drive, I use public transit and the bus drivers are wonderful and very experienced at driving in all conditions.
Beautiful to see your snow, Ann.

It's crazy how different the weather can be in even short distances. I hate having to do the death grip in bad weather. It's so scary. Glad all went well.

Glad you were safe. I'm pretty happy that I don't have to drive in snow anymore. You be careful this winter.
