I needed to have my front door replaced. It's a bit embarrassing to admit this but I went all winter long and my front door would not latch. I had a chair propped up under the door knob to keep it from popping open. I was going in and out through the basement door. The reason I waited so long was because of the weather. I couldn't exactly have the door replaced while it was freezing outside.
I had found a couple guys local who I actually knew that would do the job. I paid for the materials and I just needed to work out a day that both of us could do it. After I got home from the hospital I texted one of them and said that I would be home for the next two days if that was convenient for them. I got a reply that they would be there the following morning at 9:00am.
Unfortunately I didn't take any before pictures of the door with the chair under the doorknob. Here is after they were done. They did a fantastic job and not only does my door close and lock nicely now but it looks good. I have to say that they gave me a decent price as well. I'll definitely keep them in mind for any future jobs I have.

I'm so glad you found someone reliable, and that you have gotten the problem fixed.
ReplyDeleteGlad your door is fixed now! It's so hard to come by good handymen over here.
ReplyDeleteI bet that makes you smile every time you look at it. It's very smart, and you can feel secure.
ReplyDeleteI'm glad you were able to find someone to get it replaced. It's always good to know a good handyman, just in case.
ReplyDeleteI'm glad you got a new door. It's beautiful.
ReplyDeleteHave a fabulous day and rest of the week. Big hug to you and lots of scritches to Gibbs. ♥
I wonder if your guys would commute to Raleigh. We are in need of new weather stripping on around our entire door and on the bottom. I expect it will need to be remove for the bottom part.
ReplyDeleteVery hard to get workers for small jobs here.
Your door is very nice I love the panels too
Hugs cecilia
Hey...this worked out great for you...it is difficult to plan for workers to come, especially when you work. Your door looks great and no more propping a chair in front of it..
ReplyDeleteI am so happy to hear that you got the new front door. It looks really nice.
ReplyDeleteGlad you can now use your chair for its intended purpose .. haha ...
ReplyDeleteGreat job on the new door and finding reliable people to install it.
Have a great day
Sue

ReplyDeleteWild clapping, jumping for joy and your beautiful new door is exactly like our old front door. Our is metal, but they look identical. so happy you can lock your door now and not use a chair. YAY for the hand men.. my hand man has apparently quit me, I think he only want do do car repairs which is great because I already have something else for him to do.
ReplyDeleteThat is a nice looking door. How scary though you had to prop a chair under the old one. I hate not having my doors locked especially at night.
ReplyDeleteIt looks nice! We just had our storm door replaced a few months ago.
ReplyDeleteThat looks very smart. Great that you got someone reliable.
ReplyDeleteEven better that you knew them. Love a door that closes and locks well. Do you ever paint the outside or inside of your front door? I do. so fun.
