Last Saturday I finally got around to putting decorations on the tree in the living room. Here it is all finished. Definitely not a professional job but it's good enough
This tree is an eclectic collection of decorations ranging from store bought to handmade. There's also the ones that came from friends.Lots of ones that were hand painted by me a lot of years ago when those plaster craft kits were all the rage.Handmade ones that look like they are quilted.
A handmade one that came from a blog friend a lot of years agoA gift from my niece one year. Sadly, she is no longer with us.

I sure could not decorate a tree any better than this. And it is a tree full of memories. Each ornament is a memory of a special person or place. So you can look at it for a long time without seeing the same thing twice.
What a special tree! I love the handmade ornaments!
the sheep is adorable, I like having several trees because you can dedicate each tree to a different theme. back in the mid 70's, I went crazy painting clothes pins into reindeer. I had a 2 foot tree in the kitchen that was all hand made. when I moved to Florida I left all that behind and in 1985 I went into painting these little ornaments like your snow man. we got married in 85 and our first tree and I painted so many but did not put them on the tree, made a village on the desk. thanks for stirring the memories. you would still have all of yours, but when I go through the phases like this, when I tire of them they go. yesterday I gave away everything I don't have out in the living room.
I gave all the painted things to a girl at work for her kids. yesterday I gave the 2 foot tree and lights and ornaments to a friend from TOPS..

Lots of lovely memories on your tree. It looks very pretty and welcoming.
You have a lovely collection of ornaments, very touched by the one with your niece’s photo. Your tree looks very beautiful.
Ann what memories the ornaments hold. I do recall painting a few myself. The quilted are very nice.
I'm sorry read that your niece passed. What pretty girl she was
Hugs cecilia
Your tree looks wonderful. So many memories!
I painted ceramic ornaments back in the day (late 70s or early 80s--can't even remember now but Dagan was young). They have them now, but they don't put them on the tree. They don't fit with Star Wars and such--lol! But I do think they still have them. I should ask one of these days.
I love your MEMORY tree. I think it is cool how you can remember all of them and the time you got them.
For me that's what decorating the tree is all about... savoring the memories each ornament holds and the joy that they bring.
Love all of yours .
Sue
