I'll be gnome for Christmas.
A couple weeks ago I had to go to the mall and I asked Amanda if she wanted to go with me. Of course a trip to the mall also includes a trip to Hobby Lobby.
We wandered the aisles looking at all the Christmas decorations which were already 50% off. Fall however is only 40% off.
As we were walking I came across a shelf that had all kinds of gnomes. Now I know that there are several of you who like gnomes but when I see them, the first person I think of is Ginny of Let Your Light Shine

Another Albion fair has come and gone
I have a bunch of stuff to blog about but I'm going to go with the most recent. Last week was our towns fair. If you've been with me a while you know that the fair parade on the last day goes right by my house. My daughter always comes over and watches with me. This year her husband came as well.
There were three marching bands. This is our local school. These kids work so hard and they're very good. They had a competition that day and took first place for (AA?)The second band wasn't very good and I mentioned it to my daughter who was in marching band once upon a time. She said because they don't practice much. The third band was pretty good though.
My daughter in law and Presley were on the float for the youth center. Presley was on the other side so she's not in the picture. My daughter in law in the one in the back pointing. I'm guessing she was pointing us out to Presley.
There were a lot more pictures that I took but I'm going to stop with these. At 1:00 I volunteered to work one of the gates for a 2 hour shift. I was with three other people and we were at the main gate which was very busy and made the time go by fast. Sorry the only picture I took there was the bag of admittance stickers and bag of cash.Wednesday, September 17, 2025
Something old
Years ago I bought some looms called Knifty Knitters. There is an oblong one for making scarves and some round ones for making hats. I had started a hat and never finished it.
I don't know how long ago this was but I do know that Wade was still alive when I started this. He's been gone since 2018.
Fast forward to the present. My job has down time with nothing to do so we fill that time by working on projects or reading or scrolling through our phones. I took the partially finished hat and finally finished it.
This is the loom that the hat is made on.

The latest pictures of the guys at work behind my house.
I think this was on a Friday. A big crane pulled in.
I have no idea what they were doing and couldn't stick around all day to watch. I had time to snap a few pictures.

Out in the yard.
I got home from work the one day and before going in the house I sat down on the front porch while I looked at something on my phone. Then I noticed the dead bug sitting on the sidewalk
Next I noticed something growing inside the cement block that I never put away. I looked this up and it said it was a Virginia Creeper.
Then I looked a little further and saw the hydrangea. They are looking very faded but I think it gives them a bit of a vintage look

Gassing up.
No this is not about all those baked beans and deviled eggs that I ate on Labor Day. This is about traveling into Ohio to gas up my car.
I used to fill my tank and it would last me a month. Now a full tank of gas only lasts me a week. Gas in the small town where I live is about .40 cents more per gallon than it is at a small little convenience store in Ohio. It's about 11 1/2 miles away from home so it's worth the drive.
Not much of a picture but I was trying to take the sign that says how much gas is. That particular week it was $3.12 while in Albion, where I live it was $3.55Saturday, September 13, 2025
Bad purchase
I saw an ad for an AI dog on Facebook. It was adorable. I went to Amazon to see if they had the same thing advertised. I found the exact same one
To get the full laugh from this post it's helpful if you go to the Amazon listing and watch the video of how this dog is supposed to preform. It also states in the video that it is USB rechargeable. The link to the listing is https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0FLVTZDNW?ref=ppx_yo2ov_dt_b_fed_asin_title&th=1
I should mention that this was only $20 .
The dog arrived in a small plastic mailer.
There was no box, there was no USB cable just the dog stuffed in the little plastic mailer.
He isn't rechargeable, he runs on 2 AA batteries. He doesn't act like the video shows. He takes several steps, stops and barks while wagging his tail and then repeats the same thing over and over and over until his batteries wear out or you shut him off.
I ended up clicking return and I did get my money back. They told me not to return the dog. The funny thing is I offered him to Presley and even she didn't want him.

Enso
This is another freebie that I got through hinge health. It's an Enso which works the same as a Tens device. This however is wireless and portable. It came with the unit which is the white square thing in the picture.. It attaches to one of the gel pads and it's controlled through the Hinge Health app
From google: The Enso used patented Hybrid-form Impulse Therapy (HFIT) waveforms, which are different from the impulses of traditional TENS devices, to provide tailored pain relief.

More cozies
Or is that even cozier? Either way, I made a couple more plate cozies. These will go to Amanda
These came out a little better than the first one I did because the darts are just a tad bit deeper.. One has butterflies for Amanda and the other has fishing lures for her husband. This may not get to her till Christmas. But then again, if she reads the post and sees it she may get them sooner.

Miscellaneous
I forgot to add Presley's picture when I did first day of school so here it is.
I saw this on Facebook and sent it to my daughter-in-law. Too funny.
When I log into my computer at work, there's always a joke on the screen.

First day of school
August 26th was the first day of school around here.
I watched the neighbors across the street getting their 1st day pictures
It was hard to tell what kind of day it was going to be. If you looked one way you saw this.
Then heading to work this is what I saw.

Teeny tiny little bowl
I saw directions for making a little felt bowl. You just needed a piece of felt and some beads. I happpened to have both.
You start with a circle and mark off holes all the way around the edge of the circle. then you string beads through those holes. When you pull it tight the felt pleats into this little bowl.
