Procreate dump part 2

And here is the other half of the pictures I've done in Procreate. A lot of these were also drawn in my sketch book and then I copied them in Procreate. I like doing this and seeing the difference between the two.

Procreate dump part 1

I haven't posted any of my Procreate pictures lately. I've got about a dozen of them that haven't been shown here yet so I'm going to split them in half and do two posts.

This one was one that I did after watching an Art with Flo video. I didn't follow the video exactly because I couldn't remember half of what she did but it was the same general idea.

In the park

I was going to title this post "Saturday, in the park" but it wasn't a Saturday that I took the walk and it wasn't the 4th of July either.

That doesn't mean I can't show you the pictures I took while I did walk in the park though.

And as I was walking along feeling a bit down, there was a message for me that told me all was not lost

Happy Birthday Amanda

Holy smokes, Amanda is having another birthday. A mother could not ask for a better daughter than her.

This is a repost from 2016 when she was 33. Today she's turning.42. It's hard to believe that is even possible.

It's Amanda's of course. My first born is 33 years old today. Holy smokes where does the time go. Wish I could remember which birthday she was celebrating in the picture.

Happy Birthday Amanda.

Ancient artifacts

I suppose that may be stretching it a bit. This isn't ancient and it's hardly an artifact. It is however another very old project that I started about 12 years ago and finally finished.

I found a hand stitched piece that I had stuffed in a tote filled with embroidery floss. I never got any further than finished the stitched design. I decided to turn it into a small runner.

The homespun fabric paired well with the design.

Here's a closer look at the stitching.

A walk through the yard

I know I've already showed you things growing in my yard but lets take a stroll again.

I have these Japanese Iris in two spots in my yard. They are under the tree in the back and then I also have some on the side of my deck. This one that bloomed is next to the deck. They are way ahead of the ones under the tree.

The peonies have lots of buds on them. I can't wait for them to bloom.

The lupine are getting ready to bloom as well.

The hosta is doing well this year. This is the smallest of the three I have. There are two on the side of my house that are huge.

This white iris has bloomed also. I'm pretty sure these used to be purple.

Last but not least is my forsythia. Remember I said that a friend cut them down to nothing? Well they are coming back in so nicely.
This is what they looked like on May 10th

And here they are just 15 days later on the 25th

Week 51 drawings

This is another week that I missed a day somehow so there are only 6 this time.

Tried something different

This post was supposed to publish before another one showing some of these signs. This was the first one I made. The other post accidentally published on the wrong date

I found some 4x6 clear acrylic pieces at Dollar Tree and thought I would make something with them. My dad is no longer around but I could give this to my son. Or it may go on my handmade site. By the time this posts I'll likely have decided what I'm doing with it.

I added a vinyl saying to the acrylic sheet and then made a little stand for it using the wood tumbling tower blocks from Dollar Tree. I thought this was pretty cute. I have more of the acrylic sheets so have to come up with more idea.

Yummy Stuff

I confess, I have a sweet tooth. I try not to keep too much in the house because I just have no self control when it comes to yummy stuff.

In the past I've made 3,2,1 cake in a mug. I actually still have some of the mix left. You mix an angel food cake mix with any flavor of regular cake mix. Then when you want a treat, in a mug you put 3 tablespoons of the mix, 2 tablespoons of water and microwave for 1 minute.

I had a craving for apple crisp so I went looking for a single serving recipe. I found this one.

It was edible but it really didn't fit the bill. I probably won't make it again and I didn't even remember to take a picture of it.

Then I found this one for a brownie in a mug.

It was definitely tasty. It was a bit on the gooey side but it could be because I didn't wait for it to sit at all. I just dug right in. It's not the prettiest looking dessert but it hit the spot.

Last but not least was a little experiment. I had a can of the refrigerated croissant rolls. I popped them out of the can and before rolling them up I added a little yumminess to the inside. Half I spread with a cinnamon flavored spreadable cream cheese and the other half I spread on some raspberry filling. Both versions were very tasty.

And this, is why I can't lose weight.

Another year down

Today is my youngest child's birthday. How did he get so old? Brad is 38 today.

This is a repost from 2010

Where did time go, it just slipped away
Where did time go, it only seems like yesterday
When you'd take my hand and say
     Come on, let's go play

It does seem like only yesterday but it will be 23 years ago tomorrow that my son was born.

 Happy Birthday Brad.

Covering the hole

There is a spot underneath the steps leading to the upper level of my house that has been a gaping hole since forever. When Wade finished off the man cave his intentions were to put doors on the openings to hide all the stuff that we have shoved in there to store. Unfortunately he never got around to doing that. I've looked at this for a lot of years.

The bottom half I have put those bins in to hold various craft supplies but the top is just a bunch of junk that I should probably get rid of.

So a couple years ago (maybe even longer) I got the bright idea to cover the top with a fabric curtain. I purchased tension rods and fabric and then it sat. I finally decided I was going to take care of this and now it looks like this.

The bottom is still a bit of an eyesore but at least I no longer have to look at the junk in the top.

Patriotic decorating

I decided to put away the spring stuff and move into the red white and blue.. I made a cute little hanging decoration for the 4th of July. This is made with paint sticks

I cut the paint sticks to the length and angle I wanted them at and then glued them together to make the number 4. Then I painted it and added a bow, small flag and some pipe cleaners that I twisted around a pencil. I was going to put the word July on the angled part of the 4 but I had already applied an antique wax and the vinyl didn't want to stick.

Next I decided that I wanted to put something in the back of my truck that sits on the top of my fake fireplace. It sits empty most of the time. I gathered some flowers that I had in my stash along with a piece of foam and started arranging. Flower arranging isn't my strong suit but I didn't think it looked too bad.
