I got this adorable card in the mail from bog friend Lori and I knew it was the perfect thing for my Halloween post.

 

Then to top it off, this adorable card came from blog friend Denise.

More Halloween fun

 Apparently I was on a Mary Engelbreit kick with the AI because this one is also using her name in the prompt.

 Playing in Bing AI I created some Halloween images for you.

October Happy Mail

Both versions of the happy mail have gone out for October so here it is.

Fall in my front yard.

 When I came home from work one day, I couldn't resist taking a picture of my front yard. It's definitely fall in my neighborhood.

Cuteness overload.

 I couldn't help but snagging a picture of Milo from my daughters Facebook page. Isn't he just the cutest.

He recently had a surgery to repair an umbilical hernia and neutering. Amanda says he's doing well. He didn't care much for the cone of shame that they gave her for him to wear.

Multi color cake order.

 The multi color cake order customer (say that three times fast) strikes again. This one didn't seem quite as bad as some of the others. When I heard the colors she wanted though it sounded like an awful combination.

Take the long way home.

On October 16th I made a run to Walmart to pick up dog food, a few other necessities and to just browse the store. It was my day off and it was rainy and gloomy. On the way home I decided to turn off on a road that I don't frequently travel. I was enjoying the fall colors.

Next I turned off that road on to a dirt road and took in the view.

I enhanced that last one a bit to bring out some of the color. Although looking at it now there isn't much difference.

And one more turn to take me back to the main road.

A cake order

A woman from one of the local churches ordered this cake recently. When I asked her what colors she would like she had no idea. I suggested fall colors.

Here and her husband were pleased with it when they came to pick it up.

Another Christmas gift

Here's another Christmas gift that I recently finished. I just love these shadowbox designs.

Sorry about the bad picture but I took it at my desk under the light. We've had lots of gloomy days around here.

Birthday card.

I recently made a birthday card for a blog friend. Hopefully she will have gotten it by the time this publishes. 

After making the card base and picking out some paper, I added 3 squares and I attached stickers to each square.

On a side note, those of you on my happy mail list, the cards went in the mail earlier this week so you should be getting them soon.

That really bugs me

I saw this bug out in my back yard the one day when I was letting Gibbs out.

I have no idea what it is so I was going to use Google lens to identify it. Apparently that isn't installed on the phone I have now. Anyone know what it is?

Making Christmas gifts

I decided that this year I was going to make as many Christmas gifts as I could. I've been working on a few so far. I made this for a girl at work who seriously loves her cereal.

I'll tuck some packages of cereal in the bowl and maybe some festive spoons if I can find any.

So I told you I came home last Friday to find 2 cards in my mailbox from Presley.

Soups on

Soup weather is definitely here. Saturday was cold and dreary. The perfect day for a pot of soup.

I got busy chopping ingredients. 

Before I knew it I had a delicious pot of soup all ready to enjoy.

This is sausage potato soup and I found the recipe at skinny spatula. I did make a few changes such as leaving out the red chili flakes and using spinach instead of kale. Here is the link for the recipe

Friday the 13th.

 Last Friday was a true Friday the 13th. I started off my day being behind and rushing to get donuts out before the store opened and finish an order that was due at 7a.m. Next, not even an hour into the day, the girl in the deli cut her finger on the slicer. It was bad enough that she had to leave to have it looked at. Somewhere around 10 the power went out for maybe 30 seconds then came back on. Just before noon we were told that the electric company was going to be shutting the power out in our store and surrounding businesses to work on the line. So that meant I lost 2 1/2 hours of work for the day. 

The one bright spot was coming home and finding two cards in my mailbox from Presley. I'll save those for another post though.

what I bought

I couldn't help spending a little bit of money while at Kraynak's. I should have been picking up Christmas presents like Amanda was but instead I bought things for myself.

I bought this for the Ann cave. I liked it because I can keep this one out all year long.

 

I hesitated on this next one but Amanda convinced me to get it. I like foxes and this one will sit on my desk and remind me to stay clever while I'm crafting.

last are two ornaments that I liked. They weren't very expensive either.

day 2 continued

Yesterday I left you at Santa in his recliner. The next theme was the grinch and Whoville

 

This next one was gorgeous but my pictures aren't very good. I had a lot of blurry pictures. I was just so amazed at the displays I was in a bit of a hurry.

The last theme was the reason for the season. There were wise men, shepherds and the manger. Somehow my pictures got out of order but you get the idea.

Once we finished the displays we walked through the store where they sell all the ornaments and decorations. They also have artificial trees, wreaths and so much to see. 

I won't show you everything but I had to get a picture of the one ornament I saw. It made me laugh.

Day 2

Day two started with sleeping in, coffee and blog reading. Then it was time to get dressed and go pick up Amanda for our trip to Kraynaks. 

They have their yearly Christmas display up and we go early so we don't have to deal with crowds and long lines. 

I think they outdid themselves this year. It started with the gingerbread display.

Next was the smores theme

Moving down the line we come to Mrs. Claus in the kitchen baking cookies with some of the elves

The fur babies got to sample cookies

 In the next room Santa relaxes in his recliner while more elves are hard at work decorating
