Made it

On a beautiful day (when I don't have to go to work) I find it fun to take some of my crafty stuff out on the deck and play.
Recently I took this out with me

When I was done playing I had this.
Just a little experiment that turned into a cute bracelet.
For anyone who crochet's here's how I did it.
I don't recall what size hook I used but it was a small one.
With 3 strands of crochet thread held together chain 45 (more or less depending on the size of your wrist). Then single crochet in each chain across, fasten off and weave in ends.
Attach ring to one end and clasp to the other. Sew a button in the center of bracelet with matching thread and you're done.
Now you've got a brand new cute bracelet for summer. Perfect considering today is the first day of this wonderful season.

Hooked

I'm on a crochet kick and I can't stop. I'm totally hooked, for now. Knowing my attention span this could end tomorrow.
I bought a book called 150 knit and crochet motifs. I found the cute little flowers in the book and started making a few.

Then I got this bright idea to make a whole bunch of them and make a table runner. I don't want a white runner though so I got an off white color. This next picture is still of the white ones and I haven't trimmed the ends off of them yet.

Hopefully I don't lose interest or get distracted by something else before I finish this. I have way too many projects that get started and sit forever waiting for me to get back to them. I believe I even have a box in the basement that has a few things I started years ago. Well I've got 14 flowers done, just a half a bazillion left to go.

How about you? When you start a project (any kind, not necessarily craft project) do you see it all the way through to the end or do you get distracted, lose interest and move on to something else?

The inspector

Duke has a very important job. He takes his duties quite seriously.
He has graciously volunteered to be my quality inspector. I told him that it wasn't necessary for him to work so hard but he insisted.
He checks each piece to make sure that I haven't messed anything up.

I'm up to four sets of my mug rugs.
I'm not real crazy about the way the blue ones turned out.
Duke checked them over though and he said that even though I didn't like them they passed his inspection.
Eventually these will all become gifts for family and friends and maybe even be included in a future giveaway.

Rugs

Please use the rug

Under your mug

Ever since I made those crochet hearts I've been in the crochet mood. I like quick and easy projects so this set of coasters fit the bill
I found the pattern for these and a few other styles on Crochet spot. The link will take you to this pattern but if you look around she has directions for so many different things. If you like to crochet this is a good site to poke around in.

I'm not heartless

No matter what some of the people at work say about me, I do have a heart. As a matter of fact I actually have several of them.
I have Loraine to thank for my abundance of hearts. She posted a tutorial for tiny crocheted hearts. She found the directions here and then shared them with all of her readers. When I saw them I really liked them so I dusted off my crochet hooks and dug out some yarn.

Mine aren't as tiny but I seemed to have a bit of difficulty trying to crochet with embroidery floss so I gave up and just went with yarn.
Then I found some crochet cotton and made a bunch more. Here is one on another of my Valentine treat boxes that I've been working on.
I have over a dozen hearts in various colors, and I'm still making more. I just can't stop. They are super easy and really quick to do.
I'm planning on picking up some pin backs and making some heart pins, and I may even make some of them into magnets.
