Hanging with Presley

 June 30th and July3rd I got to hang out with Presley while her mom and dad were working.

Monday it was a bit rainy to start off. She decided she was cold and grabbed the blanket and her iPad

Later when it had cleared up she asked if we could walk to the library which is right down the street from my house.

She played with the toys while I checked out some of the books sitting around.

Thursday was a beautiful day. I can't remember all of what we did but the first picture I took of her was when she was eating her lunch.

We made jello with fruit cocktail in it and she kept checking it to see if it was ready yet. I had put it in 4 separate dishes and she kept opening them up and pulling out pieces of fruit to eat. Then she wanted to drink the jello that wasn't set yet. 

Then she wanted to walk to the library again but they were closed so we went back to my house and she wanted to walk Gibbs.

By the time she got done with him, Gibbs was wiped out and needed a nap.

 

Shopping and parking

 I recently went out shopping to get myself out of the house. If I spend too much time home alone I tend to go a bit crazy. I went to Kohls, Boscovs, and walked the mall. I also stopped at Hobby Lobby and they had their fall stuff reduced and were working on putting their Christmas stuff out.

I admit that I don't always do the best job of parking. I tend to be too close to the lines. But when I came out of the mall and saw this car I was thankful that at least I'm not this bad.

Miscellaneous stuff

 The doctors office behind me is going to be building a pharmacy next to it. There were surveyors out there quite some time ago and then nothing. They pulled a trailer into the parking lot so I thought they were going to get started but then nothing. Recently they held a ground breaking ceremony

And now we're back to nothing. From what I've heard it has something to do with zoning issues that have to be cleared up. Makes no sense to me but that's govt for ya.

I recently bought myself a little gift from Chadds Ford Jewelry. I get frequent emails from them since my first order with all kinds of offers that entice me. I bought their vintage daisy necklace along with matching earrings. I only have a picture of the necklace.

Found a couple more AI pictures that I had in my phone. This first one is from a picture of me and I think it makes me look incredibly old. Oh wait, I am incredibly old.

This one was a post that Presley did for the camera. I was impressed with how some of the stuff in the room behind her was close to what I have. 

Albion Fireworks Festival.

 Each year the little town I live in has a fireworks festival. It started with just fireworks and has grown to add other things. It lasts for two days and has food, crafters, a mullet contest, a car show and ends the second night with a fantastic fireworks display. It's always held the weekend before the 4th so this year it was on June 28th and 29th.

I have never gone and just watch the fireworks from my back yard. This year I decided to go the second day. I went by myself and just wandered around the park looking at the crafts that were available. While I was walking I ran into my son, daughter-in-law and Presley. She had gotten her face painted.

I wondered around the car show and looked at some really nice cars.

After that I headed back home. I had fallen asleep on the couch when I heard the first of the fireworks go off. Gibbs and I went out to the back yard to watch.

Year 2 week 4 drawings

A walk around the yard.

 Just a quick walk around the yard to see what's growing..

There is a dead tree just off the back corner of my lot. It's surrounded by weeds and I always like to take pictures of the thistle

This hosta is on one side of the steps to the deck and there's another huge one on the other side of the steps.

What a difference a year makes.

 My hydrangeas are not doing so good this year. 

Last year on June 27th they looked like this. They were loaded with blooms and absolutely beautiful.

This year on June 26th they looked like this

I'm writing this on July 3rd and some of the blossoms are just starting to bloom. It sure is way behind last year.

Pay no attention to the disgusting looking siding on my house. 

Another placemat tote

 I was in Dollar Tree the one day and found a pretty sunflower placemat. I bought one to make a tote bag with.

This time I decided to add inside pockets as well as a pocket on the front.

I finished it off by adding a snap to it as well

 I was playing around a bit with Bing's copilot, giving it pictures and asking it to alter them.

My yearly day lily post

 Every year I have to take pictures of the day lilies that bloom on the side of my house. And so here they are.

These grow right in front of my gas meter so I'll likely be getting a letter from them saying that they are unable to read the meter. If the person coming around to do it would just push the leaves to the side they can easily see it but that must be too much effort.

Happy Independence Day

 Independence day, or the 4th of July is a federal holiday celebrated in the United States. Today we celebrate the approval of the Declaration of Independence by the Second Continental Congress  on July 4, 1776. 

Today I think many people just see it as another day off of work and a day to have picnics and watch fireworks.
