Spring is in the air

Today I have the day off because I'll be going in for my cardiac CT scan. I'm a bit on the nervous side so I could use all the good thoughts you can send my way.

 We've had more good weather days than bad lately. Of course there is rain mixed in but it's not the cold and threatening to snow kind of weather.

One morning on my way to work, I was stopped at a red light and couldn't help taking pictures of these trees.

I'm also seeing more green on the trees. It just makes my heart happy to see things like this.

I do things backwards.

 Most people would buy a table runner to go on their coffee table. I bought a coffee table to put my table runner on. I ordered an inexpensive coffee table from Amazon so that I had something to put that table runner on in the Ann cave that Amanda bought me for my birthday. 

It came on Wednesday April 8th. It sat unopened until the next Friday. That night I put it together and let me just say I hate putting furniture together. All was good until the last screw that just would not go in for anything.

It was together though so I grabbed the table runner. Gibbs approved.

The Ann cave isn't real big and I thought the coffee table took up too much room

So Saturday I made the decision to move all the furniture around. In my younger years I could have done this in an hour or so. These days it's an all day project because it requires plenty of breaks. And of course my hip was screaming at me the whole time wanting to know what in the world I was thinking doing work like this.

In the end I liked this set up better and Gibbs again gave his approval.

To continue or not

 As you saw yesterday, I've been doing the daily drawings for more than 2 1/2 years. I've filled 7 sketch books and just started the 8th. I'm trying to decide if I want to continue after I fill this last sketch book that I have.

I could fill this last one and then call it quits. Or I could purchase more and keep on going. At this point, I really don't know which I want to do.

Sandra at MadSnapper N Beau said that if I enjoy doing it keep going and if not the stop. So I guess I just wait till I'm close to filling up this last sketch book and then decide whether or not to buy more.

Progress on the diamond art

 I've been slowly working on the diamond art picture that I bought at Dollar Tree. I'm probably about a third of the way done with it. 

The deer itself has parts that are very similar in color and the symbols on the canvas aren't real easy to read. I've been slowly but surely narrowing it down with the ones that I can figure out.

Just a little more to go at the top and then finish off up the center.

Windows wallpaper.

 My desktop computer has the wallpaper change periodically. I had one come up that I had never seen before and found it fascinating.

I normally don't click on the "learn about this picture" but this time I wanted to know more.

It's all in a Monday

 On Monday April 6th I had one heck of a day. Right now, Mondays are the day that I'm at work alone. I can't remember everything that happened that day but it was enough to make me very happy to see the end of the day. 

The one thing I didn't forget and even took a picture of was my finger. Don't worry nothing gross. It's all hidden under a band aid.

I went to lunch and decided to run to Country Fair, the convenience store next to where I work. I locked the door and went. When I came back, I unlocked the door, opened it and the proceeded to get my finger in the way when the door was closing. It hurt like crazy and cut my finger right next to the nail. It bled like crazy but luckily it didn't do enough damage that will make me lose the nail.

Meet the grandcats

 Easter Sunday, dinner was at my daughters new house. Normally she comes and cooks at my house but since she just moved into the new house she wanted to cook there. I didn't get any pictures of the dinner or the house but I did take pictures of the three grand cats.

Fluffy, she's always friendly and once she gets a few ear scritches she'll follow me anywhere.

Milo will tolerate me being there but please keep your distance.

And the newest addition to the family is Zero. He found his favorite spot in the house and he was very accepting of belly rubs and ear scritches. Oh and yes, he is laying on a heating register but they don't get hot.

Maybe one of these days I'll get pictures of my sons fur babies and you can see the rest of grandfurs.

Signs of spring

 The pictures I'm posting today were taken on April 4th. It was actually up to 80 that day. Of course the next day dropped back down to 40. Lots of signs of spring in the yard though.

I know we are way behind other places but I'll take what I can get.

Another handmade gift done and ready

 I think I mentioned that I've already started on my Christmas shopping. The plan is to buy one gift each month. I'm way ahead of the game and have 6 for each person already.

I recently made a t-shirt for my son. 

I'm not quite sure where his thing about bigfoot came from but I hope he likes the shirt.

April happy mail

 This one went in the mail on April 1st so it's unlikely that it reached anyone in time for Easter but better late than never

Oops, looks like I bent the corner on this one.

Around the yard

 These were all taken on March 28th. Hopefully everything is a little further along by now.

This is the forsythia. There are a few stray branches near the bottom that already have flowers on them but for the most part it's just very small signs of buds starting 

The day lilies are popping up nicely

I think this is iris.

and finally the lambs ear.

I've got a lot of clean up in the yard to do. Hopefully that will have been done by the time this posts also
