A short story

 I was in the Ann cave one day and noticed movement out in my driveway. A neighbor cat had come to check things out in my yard.

And then he was gone.

Better late than never

 I'm surprised I haven't gotten yelled at yet for not posting these. It may be a it late but these are the Mother's Day gifts I got from Amanda.

She gave me a gift bag stuffed with all kinds of goodies.

There was candy, cocoa and fairy garden treasures.

One candle was a Yankee Candle Happy Mother's day

And the other was from Bath and Body Works. The scent was Backyard Honeysuckle

When the red red robin

 comes bob bob bobbin' along.

He wasn't really bobbin'. He was just sitting on the railing on my deck. He wasn't even looking in my direction. I guess I just have to take what I can get.

I'll be at the hospital today getting my cathetarization done. I won't be around to read or comment and I doubt I'll be answering any emails. I'll let everyone know when I can how it all went.

A fun guy

 Or in this case a fungi.

I spotted this on the tree in my front yard.

Today is Presley's dance recital and then tomorrow is my cathetarization. 

When Presley stayed to hang out.

 I'm finally getting around to posting about Presley staying to hang out last Saturday. She built a grocery store in the basement. I think she pulled all the food out of my cupboard for this.

She kept going back up stairs for another bagful of items.

Then she wanted to go for a walk but unfortunately with my hip pain I'm just not able to do that. She asked if she could walk Gibbs around the yard and that was doable. Then she wanted to know how far she could go on the sidewalk. I gave her a stopping point in either direction and she was very good about not pushing the limit

The grocery store across the street also sells gas. This price had actually come down 5 cents from the day before.

last minute decision

 I've been stressing over getting the blood work done that I need to have before my cathetarization. I couldn't figure out if the orders had been placed and where I needed to go. Mostly I only got ahold of automated answering machines. I hate those things.

Firday morning I finally found the orders on my patient portal. I made the last minute decision to leave early and get it done. The place I needed to go was close to work. I got there early and walked in. There was no one there. Not a check in window or anything

They actually had check in kiosks instead. I signed in and just sat down when they called me back. I was in and out in no time but now I had almost an hour before I needed to be at work. McDonalds for breakfast it is.

Treating myself.

 The one day on my lunch break I took a drive to the mall. I stopped at Boscov's and did a little shopping. I bought myself a new purse. The one I've been using is a much bigger one and I thought I would like something a little smaller. I love the stitching on it.

My mother's day

 
Amanda took me out to breakfast the day before so we could avoid the Mother's Day morning crowds. We went to Perkins and breakfast was delicious.

In the evening my son and Presley stopped over. They brought me a card and flowers.

Presley wanted to stay and hang out for a while but that's a post for another day. After she left I was watching tv and suddenly I got very chilled. I grabbed a blanket and I was shivering uncontrollably. I turned out the heating pad and put it under the blanket with me which helped some. I went to bed with the heating pad and a bucket just in case. Thankfully there was no throwing up. Sunday still didn't feel great so I spent the whole day in my pajamas and most of it on the couch.

 Except there was no fire involved here. Just a candle sitting on a warmer.

A scary sky

 On April 28th, after work I was headed to the bank to do my night drop. The sky was really dark and the white water tower really stood out against the sky. I was sitting at a red light so I snapped a picture because, well, that's what bloggers do when they have nothing else going on for the week.

Rebus

 At work they regularly do fun little challenges for employees. This month they are doing puzzles. There is a crossword, maze, word search and rebus. I printed them out to do them and was on the rebus puzzles and got stuck on one.

I went in search of some pictures of this type of puzzle and found the exact page that they used for the challenge. It was a PDF file so I just took a picture of my screen to share here.

Can you figure them all out? If not it also included the answers. With the exception of that one I had them all right.

My craziness.

 I told you that I've been working on Christmas already. I actually started it right after Christmas last year. The plan was to just buy one gift per person each month. We are currently on month 5 and I now have 8 gifts for everyone.

When I get them, I wrap them and put them in the appropriate tote, I bought extra large gift bags that will hold all the gifts.

They are currently just sitting on the bench in my dining area

None of the gifts are marked as to who they are for but I know exactly who's bag is who's so that's all that matters. 

I suppose since I already have 8 I could stop at any time. Will I? Who knows. I may end up with more gifts than I can fit in the bags. This might be a little much but for this year, I'm having fun with it. None of the gifts are very expensive. I just see things and think, I'm getting that for so and so. There are even a few hand made gifts in there.

Like a lamb to the slaughter

 I needed some hamburger and went to the store that I used to work at. I should have known better. They rarely have what I want and lately the meat case has looked pitiful. I wanted burger so I could make some meatballs and some taco meat so I was looking for about 3 pounds. They had exactly 2 packs of burger and neither one looked very good.

I asked if there was anyone in the meat department. The deli girl went and looked and walked out with one, one pound pack of burger. She said he was working on it then. She asked if this was enough.

I looked at the burger in the pack and thought, no way is that extra lean. I even said it out loud but she made no attempt to go check to see if it was correct. I wish I would have taken a picture of the raw burger but I didn't think of it. Plus it wasn't close to how much I wanted. Against my better judgement I bought it.

I knew when I was cooking it that it wasn't extra lean. There was way too much grease in it.

I got over a 1/2 cup of grease from this meat and I even took a little video of it after I poured it into the foam tray

Now that I look at the price sticker I'm even wondering if that price is correct. $3.63 a pound for extra lean burger seems a little on the cheap side. Did I go back to the store? No, I didn't because I didn't have to buy it but I did anyway. 

Update

 Not sure if I posted about the doctor calling me on a Saturday evening to give me results about my CT scan or not. I think I did but we'll start from there.

I got a text from Walmart that the prescriptions were in. With all the meds I'm taking now I feel like I could open my own pharmacy

I got a letter in the mail saying that my insurance claim was denied for the CT scan because there was no pre-authorization. Now I need to call the doctors office and see if they will resubmit that so that the insurance company will pay for it. I believe the bill for that was over $3000. 

The hospital called and scheduled my cathetarization for May 18th. I need to go get blood work done before that so I also need the doctors office to send an order for that. I think I can get it done at a place not far from work and that way I can just go in a little late.

And that's where I'm sitting right now. Amanda did say she would drive me the day I have the cathetarization done. We shall see if it'll be a one day thing or an overnight stay.
