Rotten eggs

I'm sure that these eggs that I found on snappygoat.com are perfectly good.

The rotten eggs I'm referring to are the things that have been annoying me lately.

Rotten egg #1:  My cell phone is constantly going off with calls and text messages from unknown sources. I frequently get voicemails stating that I am under investigation by the IRS for fraud. If I don't take immediate action I will pay the legal consequences. Then there are the nonstop text messages for Gregory. Those come in for various reasons from credit help to a house that is for sale.

Rotten egg #2:  Trying to get answers to my problem with the sensitivity to perfumes is becoming a real hassle. Apparently, there was nothing on my test results to warrant further action in that area. Now they are going to set me up with an ear nose and throat specialist for allergy testing. She said that they are going to send me to the ENT because it would take months to get an appointment with an allergist. I just hope that this will get me some answers.

Rotten egg #3: I apparently have a knack for making people mad and pushing them away. Sometimes I know why they are mad at me and other times I don't. Either way, I seem to be getting very good at it without even trying. I've never set out to intentionally offend anyone so I guess I just have a talent for it. Who knew.

The bunny brigade.

The bunny brigade will be heading to work with me to give to those who work in my area. These were cut with my Cricut machine using another free file. This one came from SVG cuts

Magicians pull a rabbit out of a hat but I pull mine out of my Cricut machine.

Bunnies come in a rainbow of colors too.  If I would have had some brown paper I could have made some chocolate bunnies.

I don't know if you would call these a bag or a box but there's room to slip a little bit of candy inside.

An update on my doctors appointment. Tuesday was the appointment and they said to call my doctor on Wednesday to get results. Wednesday I call my doctor, they aren't there that day. I called again on Thursday and she said she hadn't gone through everything that came in yet and I said I would call back later. When I got home from work I called again and she said she went through everything and there was nothing there for me. I called the doctors office who did the test and after checking she said it would be on it's way right then. I gave it a half hour and called my doctors office back. She said yes it was there and didn't say anything else. So I ask, do you need me to call back tomorrow. Her reply was yes, we're here until noon.  Who knew it could be such a hassle to get test results.

My version

The other day Sandra sent me a link to a blog that showed a picture of a reusable tote bag that was crocheted from plastic bags.  Well how do you like them apples. I now have something else to blog about because I made a small tote bag years ago crocheting with plastic grocery bags.

I can remember sitting out on the deck cutting my plastic grocery bags in to strips to create my yarn. My neighbor asked me what I was doing and the look on her face when I told her I was going to crochet a purse out of plastic bags was priceless. Her eyes got real big and her response was that sing songy OK  that you get from people when they think you are off your rocker. She told me she wanted to see that when I got done. She was a bit amazed when I showed her this...

This measures about 13" wide by about 11" high. I used it a few times to carry stuff to work and then for a while to tote craft projects from one room to another when I was working on something. Mostly it just hangs on a doorknob in my craft room.

OOPS!

Monday I downloaded a free cutting file for a really cute Easter card. I spent Monday morning working on cutting it out then putting it together. I was quite excited about having something to use for a blog post.

Apparently I was more excited about getting it in the envelope and putting it in the mail because it wasn't until after the card was in the envelope and all sealed that I remembered I wanted to take pictures of it first.

I have a picture of the envelope though

Just to show you what the card is supposed to look like I borrowed the picture from the Dreaming tree website. I used different papers in mine but you get the general idea.

Update on my doctors appointment.
The tech who did my breathing test yesterday said that everything looked normal but the doctor still had to analyze it. I have to call my doctor some time today to get the results.
I want to thank Joan for introducing me to a friend of hers on facebook who mentioned MCS (multiple chemical sensitivity) After doing a little bit of research it really sounds like what my problem is. I'll be sure to take the information I found to my next doctors appointment and discuss the possibilities.

Today

I'll be heading to a doctors appointment this morning. Screen shot of google maps. That's where I'm going.

I'm going to Dr. Gary Esper who specializes in pulmonary disease. The purpose of the visit is for a pulmonary function test. After a particulary bad day at work with the perfumed ones I broke down and called my doctor to see if there was anything I could do to help with the problem. His thoughts were either allergy testing or the pulmonary function test. Since the latter is the least painful option we're starting with that.

Like a bridge over troubled water

This is from Sept 2008. Not my best work and the original picture was probably better. But here it is any way.

Always loved the song

The twelth of never

This post has nothing to do with the song. The only connection is that at the moment life is hitting me hard and I feel like it will be the twelth of never before things turn around and start going right.

That being said I'm having trouble coming up with a blog post. So until my head can get back in the game I thing I'll post pictures of my old edits.

Since Easter is only a week away how about this rabbit I spotted in June of 2011

To help the effort.

Wednesday was my birthday. It was just another ordinary day. There was nothing special about it.  Any more I find them rather depressing. There was, however, a certain wonderful blog pal who sent me a box of chocolates.
Yesterday I went to work and the deli manager and another girl in the deli, (both were off on Wednesday) brought me a gift. I had been talking about wanting to get my craft room organized so they got me this,

It had 44 little drawers so I can organize all my stuff. Maybe once I fill it  I won't spend all my time searching for things. I included the box because it was hand decorated by Jess's daughters. Oh, and I got artwork too. Love the green tail on that cute little pup. I think I might frame this

A pocket full of sunshine

I made this last year from a pocket off an old pair of jeans. I never did anything with it but it made for a good picture to use for a blog post.

I'm not real crazy about the sound of the song but I like the lyrics

The robin and the starlings

Monday as I was sitting at my computer I noticed a robin in my driveway. I grabbed the camera and snapped about a dozen pictures before I realized I didn't have the SD card in the camera. I grabbed the card and got it in the camera as quick as I could, and hoped the robin was still out there. It was but now a little farther away.

Snap, snap, snap. It isn't the greatest, but it's proof enough for me that spring really is on its way

The robin wasn't the least bit phased by all the starlings that flew in. He just merrily went about his business.

A single starling searching the ground, but there were  at least a dozen more close by

A just as exciting as seeing the birds was seeing grass again. I don't care if it is all trampled down at the moment. At least the snow is finally melting and I can see grass again

Don't quote me

My mood is low and the only thing I could think of to post today was some of the quotes I have saved to one of my Pinterest boards.

I have to say that my dad set the standard pretty high.

Everyone has to start somewhere right?

Yep and the picture in my head is nowhere near what my reality is.

More from Saturday

So owl try and keep this brief since it's not very interesting

This consists of cell phone pictures I took while at Walmart. Boring I know so short and sweet so you don't give me the monster eye

The parking lot, like the roads was pretty much bare except for the HUGE piles of snow.

See, I told you it was boring.

Things that make me procrastinate

Saturdays are typically my shopping day. I don't necessarily like to shop any more but sometimes I have to. Now if it was a spend all you want on unnescessary craft supplies I would show much more enthusiasm. That wasn't the case here though.

Saturday morning I look out the window and I see this.

Still plenty of snow on the ground but at least the roads are clear. Then I pulled out my phone and checked the temperature.

8 degrees, really? So I procrastinate for a while and consider skipping the whole shopping trip altogether. Then Gibbs looks at me and I remember he ate the last of his dog food the night before and Wade has given him the last of his dog biscuits. So it's either I need to bundle up, defrost the windshield in my vehicle and head out OR I could cook him a burger and wait for another day. I went to the store. SIGH. It did warm up to 25 by the time I was heading back home

When Irish eyes are smiling

It must be St. Patrick's Day.

What do you call a clumsy Irish dance? A jig mistake.

What do you get if you cross poison ivy with a four leaf clover? A rash of good luck

Happy St. Patrick's Day

Scraping bottom of the barrel

I believe that the weather and life in general are in competition to see who can bring me down the fastest. I'm not looking for sympathy, I'm just giving an excuse for my less than interesting posts for those of you who still stop by here every day.
Speaking of that, I want to thank those of you who do continue to visit and brighten my day with your comments.
So for today I hopped around the internet to find something I could snag for a post.

This pretty much expresses how I feel.

I was going to add a cute little poem that I found too but for some reason I can't copy and paste and I'm too lazy to type the whole thing out.

What made that mess

So today I'll show you what made that mess that was on my desk in  yesterday's post. It all started with a toilet paper roll. Most people would just throw them away after the toilet paper is gone. I do sometimes but then other times I think I should save those to use for craft projects. Unfortunately I don't always use them. I get tired of seeing them laying around and throw them away only to start collecting them again in a week or so.

I happen to have a few laying around and I had wanted to make leprechaun hats to hold candy. I like to give treats to the people at work that I like. You know, the ones who don't try to put me in to respiratory distress.

Armed with toilet paper rolls, paper, glue and a few other odds and ends, I made these.

I can't decide if I like the plain green ones better or the ones with patterned paper .

Here's a closer look at just one. I cut each toilet paper roll in half to get two 2" high hats. I wrapped the rolls with the paper then added a hat band with buckle and glued it all on to the bottom. Now to fill them with some candy. I thought either some butterscotch candies since the color is goldish or something wrapped in a gold wrapper.

Oh and on the bottom you see that green squiggly line. That is green glitter glue. Gotta have the bling.

Ginny said so.

The other day Ginny left me this comment
Blogger Ginny Hartzler said...
Found this on Facebook, and I thought of you right away. Apparently, you are a genius!!

A messy desk and intelligence go hand in hand.
Research undertaken at the University of Minnesota produced an intriguing conclusion: the chaos on someone’s work desk indicates that they’re not, in fact, simply a messy person, but more importantly that their brain is focused on what really matters. Just think — when we’ve got nothing important to do we often turn to the pettiest and most trivial activities to keep us occupied.

Well, it's a mess so I guess that means I'm a genius.

If I'm going to be honest here, this is not bad in comparison to how it's been in the past. It was actually totally cleaned off but then I started working on a project.

Snow way

Say it isn't so! I hear we're supposed to get even more snow. It must be affecting the way my brain is working because I forgot to even write my post last night. Or it could be the lack of oxygen to my brain from inhaling too many perfume fumes. Yes, the people at work are still at it.

I did manage to get a couple wintery type pictures ready to post however.

Same tree, taken through the same window.

Hopefully some day soon I'll have green grass and flowers to look at.

Monday Monday

I've got the Monday blues.  I have to work today because the person who normally works today has to go to a health department food safety class. This week and next I'm working Monday and have Tuesday off instead. On the bright side of that after my day off on Tuesday I only have 3 days to work before my next day off.

I could have been a unicorn

I wonder if it's hard to sleep with a horn sticking out of your head

I know, pretty lame. My excuse is the time change. The alarm goes off at 4 on Sunday morning and losing an hour sleep when you have to get up that early really sucks.

Running on empty

The title of this Jackson Browne song perfectly describes how I'm feeling lately.

Enough already

We are under a winter storm warning until 7 tonight. As I'm writing this (Thursday evening) it's coming down. It says 1-3 inches Thursday night, an additional inch during the day today with a total storm total of 4-8 inches.  it doesn't look like it's snowing much in the picture but it was coming down pretty good.

Note worthy

I ended up doing this backwards because the note cards I showed you yesterday were made after the ones I'm going to show you today.

These don't have envelopes for them yet and I still need to make a box for them too

I cut the card base from plain white card stock then found 2 coordinating pieces of scrapbook paper. I then cut circles and scallops on my cricut machine.

The original plan was that all 6 were going to have a stamped sentiment but unfortunately my stamping skills are not the best and I screwed up 3 of the circles and didn't want to cut more.

So the other 3 got this cute little flowers with no sentiment.

The mess is getting worse

Yes, the mess in the craft room is getting worse since I was at it again. I really, REALLY want to get it organized but every time I go in there I get an idea or I find something that inspires  me to make something.

This time I made a box. Actually the box came last but for this post it comes first. What do you suppose might be in this little box? It measures 3.5" x 3.5" and is .5" high.

Inside you will find 4 3x3 note cards with envelopes.
These are really simple Since all I did was cut the card stock to size. For the flowered square I simply cut scrapbook paper. The entire sheet looked like the larger piece on the box lid and I just cut each flower for the note cards.

This post is unscented

Over the years I have developed a sensitivity to strong scents. This includes perfumes, some cleaning products and some laundry products and lotions. Anything really strong will put me in to coughing fits and then I just have a hard time breathing. People at work know this. I've had a sign up going in to our area asking people to not wear perfume or cologne. This should be enough right? WRONG!  People still come in highly scented with something and swear they have nothing on. They ask someone else to smell them as proof that it's not them. I feel like they think I'm making it up. Aside from the ones who work in my area there are other employees who load themselves up with perfume and I won't even get in to All the customers who marinate in their perfume.
Maybe I should just start wearing a gas mask.

So tell me, what are your thoughts on people who feel the need to wear strong perfumes

just a few things

My day off consisted of laundry, shopping and Columbo. Oh and a bit of napping and Pinterest browsing
The lady in front of me at the checkout had the oddest hair style I've ever seen. I wish I could have gotten a picture of the front of her but I think I would have bee  too obvious then

Play it again Sam

Happy March everyone. Can you believe February is over already? Since I'm writing this post a couple days ahead of time I don't know if we're going in to March like a lion or a lamb but the weather report said it was supposed to get cold again today.

On with today's subject. I feel like a broken record when I say "I tried to clean my craft room again" Quite possibly that might be a good epitaph for my headstone when I die. Here lies Ann, She wanted to clean her craft room but died trying.

Oh well, this time the distraction was a book I picked up at a thrift shop. I paid a whole 99 cents for this.

When I bought it I thought I would buy a few punches and make some of the stuff in here. Turned out that the punches I wanted were either too expensive for my cheap side or I just couldn't find the ones called for. Well I pulled this out and was leafing through and saw the violets. I had the bright idea that maybe I could turn this into a cutting file in Cricut design space. The book tells you the sizes of the shapes used so all I had to do was find the shapes I needed which for this one was pretty easy.

I cut the pieces out and started gluing them all together then made a card.
