More from the wedding.

I'm going to break this up in to several posts just so I can stretch things out and because I have so many pictures.

First I'll start with the set up. The wedding/reception were both held at the log cabin located in the local borough park. The park has several pavilions, a stone house and the log cabin that they rent out. I forgot to take a picture of the outside but this is inside.

I'm copy and pasting these from my SD card so don't know if you'll be able to enlarge or what the quality will be like if you can.

Everything was decorated for fall.

\

They were able to use the fireplace and later in the evening it was quite nice.

Amanda's beautiful bouquet

This next one came out blurry, but for "something old" she used my fathers ID bracelet from when he was in the Army. She had it wrapped around the handle of her bouquet.

To answer other questions from yesterday, it was the grooms mother that I was standing with in that picture. The cake was half chocolate and half yellow.
Ok, so that's it for today. Be back tomorrow with more.

A quick look

By the time I got home Friday I was too tired to post. Yesterday I spent the day doing absolutely nothing. Most of the pictures I took from the wedding are on my big camera but I have few on my phone that I can share.

19 pounds

No, that isn't how much weight I've lost. Thats how big the turkey was that Amanda cooked yesterday.
It was mighty delicious too.

Short but sweet

 Wishing everyone a Happy Thanksgiving.

Oh that holiday feeling

Aren't the holidays just wonderful? People are so sweet and kind. If you didn't hear the sarcasm in those first two sentences let me assure you it was there.

On Sunday I was called to the front of the store. A customer wanted to know if he could have his 60 cents back. I asked what for. He said that the sign says pies are $5.99 but they are scanning $6.59. I told him if it was a cherry pie those are $6.59. He gave me a nasty look and said that's not what the sign says. I informed him that the sign does say underneath that cherry pies are $6.59. I told him I would bring the sign up if he would like to read it. He gave me another nasty look, turned around and walked out the door.

Yesterday I had double duty. I was doing the bakery as well as covering the office. I needed to make pies but they have to go last because I have to turn the temperature up on the oven. I had pulled the pies out of the freezer and was in the process of getting them ready to go in the oven but had been interrupted a couple times to run to the office. A customer comes in and asks if the pumpkin pies are done. I informed her that I was in the process of getting them in the oven but it would be a while before they were done. I got another nasty look and in a huffy tone she informed me that she was told they would be ready Tuesday morning. The deli girl said she talked to her Monday and told her I would be making pies on Tuesday but never said they would be ready in the morning.

I'm really ready for the holiday to be over.

A mixed bag kind of day

Like most days off, I started today at a very leisurely pace. I grabbed my coffee, and headed for my computer.
Next I decided I would get dressed and clean up the kitchen. After the soup I made on Sunday I kind of left it a bit of a mess. From there I thought maybe a little bit of cleaning but soon changed my mind and decided to wrap Christmas presents.Everything I have purchased so far is now wrapped and as the new stuff comes in I'll be sure to wrap it right away to keep up with it.
Then it was time to get back to the cleaning. I swept and mopped and then threw a load of laundry in. By that time it was 2 in the afternoon and I decided I was done for the day. For the rest of the day I worked on a couple super simple craft projects and watched tv.

A delicious end to the day

When I got home from work yesterday I was pretty much ready to park it on the couch and call it a day. The only problem with that plan was that who was going to make my dinner. I had already bought all the ingredients to make chicken gnocchi soup so I convinced myself that I  needed to get in the kitchen and start making it.
In the end it was a most delicious decision.

A fun day

So Amanda and I headed to the craft shows yesterday. The first one was just down the street from me at the Catholic Church. This show is one that we go to every year, it's small but it's always been nice. The last couple years however it seems to be dwindling in popularity. Neither one of us bought anything at that craft show. Next we headed to one that's been around for quite some time but I've never gone to. I've heard good things about it so we decided to check it out. It was way bigger and so many nice things. I purchased this towel for Amanda with the crochet topper on it. She liked it because it was made with a Pioneer Woman towel
For myself I purchased this little cork reindeer ornament

and this, which I thought was an excellent price at just $21.75. The base of it is a tree slice.

Afterwards, we went to Subway for lunch and then picked a couple things up at Walmart. Let me just say Walmart was a total Madhouse and I couldn't wait to get out of there.

Random

Thursday we had a winter weather warning that was calling for lake effect snow with 4"-7" of accumulation. Thankfully that forecast was off and this was all we ended up getting.

Friday after work I made a quick run to Walmart to pick up a few things and then came home and had a totally lazy evening. I bundled up in pajamas and robe then settled in on the couch under a blanket. Gibbs and I spent the evening watching tv.

Well, actually, I watched tv and the black blob laying next to me on the couch was napping.

Today Amanda and I are going to go to a couple more craft shows. Last week I didn't buy one single thing. Maybe today will be a better craft shopping day.

Blog comments.

Today I'm just going to mention some blog comments.

Starting with Sundays post with my new hair cut and snazzy fall leggings. I want to thank all of you for all the wonderful compliments. You brightened my day. I was especially surprised by Andrea's comment saying I never told you I was 30 years old. I knew there was a reason I liked her.

Monday I appreciated all the sympathetic comments regarding the snow. Sandra asked if it was early to be getting snow but Cynthia pointed out in her comment that if you know Northwestern Pennsylvania then you know it can snow as early as Halloween.

Tuesday I posted the cake topper I made for Amanda's cake. Sandra and Andrea asked if I was going to decorate it and how. Well yes, I am decorating the cake and Amanda has asked for fall colored flowers and maybe a few little pumpkins.

And that will just about wrap things up for the day.

Cutting it close

Since it's getting awfully close to Amanda's wedding day, I figured I had better stop my procrastinating and get started on a project that I told her I would make. I offered to make a cake topper using my Cricut. These types of cake toppers have become quite popular and this is the first one that I've attempted. Without further ado here is what will be going on the top of her cakeJust as a side note this is not your typical layered cake that you see at most weddings. Since this is going to be a small affair, she's just getting a half sheet cake and this will be surrounded by flowers.

I had no idea that gluing regular card stock to glitter card stock was going to be such a pain in the butt. I had a really hard time getting the black to stick but in the end I won.

It was bound to happen.

It's getting to be that time of year when I knew we were going to get snow sooner or later. I was kind of hoping for MUCH later though. It started snowing yesterday afternoon while I was still at work. Not a lot of accumulation when I took these. This was when I first got home from work around 3:00pm. Looked kind of pretty on my forsythia that are a bit overgrown again.

Since I'm writing this Sunday night and scheduling it to post Monday morning, I have no idea at this point just how much snow we'll end up with. I think it's pretty safe to say that I will spend my day off hibernating.

New do

I finally got my hair cut. It's feels so good to not have to have it up in a pony tail. I normally go to Walmart but since covid it's not as simple to just pop over there and get a hair cut when I want one. The other day I did a google search for "places to get a hair cut near me" I started at the top of the list and made a call. I asked for an appointment on either Saturday or Monday since those are my days off. As luck would have it they had one yesterday and I snagged it. This place is only about a 1/2 mile away from home so it's more convenient than Walmart. The girl who cut my hair is really nice too and she did a great job. Bonus you get a selfie of me with the new hair cut and me wearing my snazzy fall leggings.

A look back at Gibbs.

This is a collage of pictures of Gibbs from late 2014 and maybe early 2015. The collage was dated 1/16/2015.

Since he's looking pretty shaggy right now I'm not going to take any pictures of him. He's got an appointment with the groomer December 7th so maybe after that I'll have some new ones.

Today I'm going to a small craft show with Amanda and then I have an appointment to get my hair cut. Other than that, not much else is planned for the day.

Can you keep a secret?

If I tell you a secret, do you promise not to tell Gibbs? Ok but you have to swear not to say a word.

I did some Christmas shopping for him on Chewy.com the other day and one of the boxes came on Wednesday. The other one is supposed to be here today.

So this is what was in the box.

They had the toys buy 3 get one free. Gibbs hasn't had any new toys in quite awhile so I thought I would splurge. Now watch him not play with any of them.

Because Sandra said.

Yesterday Sandra said that she remembered all the crafts I showed so I should go back another three years. OK, here ya go

2017, I was making sock snowmen

2016 it was penguins

and tea light pins

And finally 2015 all I could find was one picture of an index card for my index card art.

Hunting for the mojo.

I thought maybe if I went back to see what I was doing around this time of year in the past it might inspire me to get my craft on.

Last year I was making Thanksgiving cards

Two years ago I was making ornaments

And three years ago I was making some table runners.

Well, I don't know if this inspired me at all but it gave me a blog post so there's that.

thinking through the keyboard

Just some random thoughts running through my head today.
I can't really explain it, but for some reason I just feel very uneasy and tense. There is no particular thing that's bothering me that I'm aware of, and yet I have this uneasy feeling. It also came with crying for absolutely no reason whatsoever. I had to leave the house for a while just to try and have some kind of distraction. I hope that it won't last long and I can be back to normal. Well, as normal as I can possibly be. For now, I will have a cup of tea and try and relax.

If you know me, then you know what a procrastinator I am. Gibbs and I both have been over due for hair cuts. I finally called and made an appointment for him yesterday. Unfortunately they are booked until Dec 7. Well he's looked like a stray mutt for this long I suppose he can wait another month. Now for me. I need to get a haircut before Amanda's wedding or my hair will be pulled back in a pony tail.

I wish I could get myself motivated to do some things around here. So many things I want to do but I can't get myself to do any of them. On my days off I plan to tackle something but I end up sitting in front of the computer or the tv.

Time to wrap this up. I'm starting to bore myself.

Lunch

If you're going out shopping it definitely requires that you also stop for lunch. Since I had a Applebee's gift card in my wallet for over two years, this was a good time to use it. My lunch was a bacon cheddar chicken sandwich which was absolutely delicious and I can't believe I ate the whole thing. I can't remember exactly what Amanda's was called some kind of steak sandwich. Hers looked pretty yummy too.

shoe shopping

The day went better than expected. I didn't need to make nearly as many stops as I thought I would. I did have to go back to the Millcreek Mall though in order to find what I wanted. Amanda went with me and our first stop was at David's Bridal for her to return a pair of shoes that she bought and get the one she needed. Next stop was Designer Shoe Warehouse. I found one potential pair and then there was the very sparkly

and the slightly spikey.

The next stop was The Shoe Department and there I made my final choiceDon't let that heel fool you, these were actually quite comfortable.
