More diamond art and a pin loom

A long time ago I bought a diamond art kit. It had several trees that I completed and then there was this goofy looking moon thing. I didn't like it but it was something to do at work.

I still haven't figured out the pin loom but I confess I haven't tried very hard either. I've been working on other things. I think it was Jean who asked if I could show a picture of the loom and maybe someone would have some helpful tips.

Most of the videos I've found show a 3 pin loom where there are sets of 3 pins together. None of them showed this particular loom. I might figure it out eventually.

Snow

Wednesday February 18th all that snow we had was finally almost gone. This is all that remained in my front yard.

Friday the 20th it was snowing. We didn't have any accumulation but winter was telling us that it wasn't done with us yet.

Saturday the 21st we had a winter storm watch from Sunday through Tuesday with expected snow accumulation of  3-5 inches. I'm writing this post on Saturday evening so I can't say whether or not anything will come of that but I can tell you that I'm hoping it's wrong. And of course if we do get a lot of snow I'm sure I'll post about it.

Itty bitty mushrooms

The one day I happened to look out the basement window. It's pretty much at ground level so I could look right into the flower bed in the front of the house. I noticed these little spots so I went outside to investigate further.

There were a bunch of the cutest little mushrooms. They were probably no bigger than my thumb and there were a lot of them.

At the car wash

My vehicle has been looking really disgusting so I took advantage of the nicer weather we had last week and stopped at the car wash. It looked good for a day or two but it's back to looking pretty dirty again. It sure doesn't take long this time of year.

Now I need to get the inside cleaned out.

Bank Holiday

One of the nicest things about my job is getting all the bank holidays off. The most recent one was Presidents day on February 16th.

My son has been off work because he injured his foot so I asked if he wanted to go out for either breakfast or lunch with me. As a bonus, Presley also had the day off school so she went with us too. I went to take the picture and my son was trying to get Presley's attention but she was too focused on whatever she was watching on his phone. I asked her if she was addicted to electronic devises and she said yes.

We went to Maple Timber coffee. Brad and I both go the Maple Timber Panini and Presley got a breakfast sandwich. The chips that came with the sandwich were delicious. I don't know if they were made there or not but they did taste like homemade ones.

I took a look back at this time in 2019. Nothing much exciting was going on.

I was still struggling with getting rid of Wade's clothes. They stayed in the closet for quite some time because I was feeling like if I got rid of them I was getting rid of the last bit of him that was still here.

I was still in the bakery at the store where I worked.

I didn't look or feel as old as I do now and apparently I enjoyed clowning around in my spare time

Diamond art

I purchased a cheap diamond art coaster at Dollar Tree and it was a nice project to take to work. It heped pass the time while I was alone and things were slow.

I should have remembered to take a picture of it when I was done.

Oversize load and a ride along

One day on my way to work I got behind a couple semis hauling oversize loads. Whatever it was they were hauling was tall and narrow. They kept moving over to the other lane and I couldn't figure out why they were doing that. Then it occurred to me that they were trying to avoid low branches and anything else that might hit the top of their cargo.

Another day on my way home I propped my phone up and turned on the video. This is over 4 minutes long and not real exciting but if you feel like driving along with me a bit you can watch

Last week at work

Last Monday February 9th, I knew I was going to be alone all day at work. The other girl was going to the Bradford office to cover for someone who is out on medical leaves. I got a call from the bank that one of the checks deposited on Friday wasn't signed. I told them I was alone but the other girl would pick it up the next day.

Tuesday morning, the other girl didn't show up. First I thought she was going to pick the check up before she came to work because I had sent her an email telling her about it. By 10 she still wasn't there and I thought maybe she had gone to Bradford again. I called our manager and she told me that the other girl was out all week on bereavement because her step mom passed away.

I put a sign on the door that I went to the bank and picked up the check. Then I thought as long as I'm out I'm going to stop and get lunch so I went to Arbys.

It was a long week being there all by myself but I handled it and there were no major catastrophes.

I see the moon, the moon sees me.

I let Gibbs out the one morning and saw the moon peeking through the tree.

This picture was taken on 2/10, the post was written on 2/15. We still have snow on the ground but a lot of it is melting. Hopefully by the time this publishes it will all be gone.

Teaching an old dog new tricks.

I tried once years ago to learn how to knit and could never get the hang of it. I decided to see if I could teach myself now. I've got lots of yarn to play with and knitting needles aren't expensive.

I figured out how to cast on and knit. So far so good. I don't know if I'll ever be able to do anything more than simple things but it was something new to do.

I also purchased a 4" pin loom. I thought it would be an easy thing to take to work. It didn't come with any directions but I looked up weaving on a pin loom. I got lots of different videos but none were helpful and none had looms that looked like mine. I got very frustrated and gave up. I'll keep going back to it to see if I can figure it out but I don't hold out much hope.

Blinded by the light

I love the sun but it sure can be blinding when you're driving. This is currently what it's like when I'm leaving work and the sun is shining.

It makes it hard to even see the brake lights on the car in front of me.

Friday the 13th

Are you superstitious? Do you think that Friday the 13th is bad luck? I'm not superstitious but on a Friday the 13th I will blame the date for anything that goes wrong.

The one day at work I was by myself so I took pictures around the office,

Beth sits at her desk and crochets. Lately she's been making flowers

She also has these Lego flowers on her desk

Someone asked why they keep it so cold when I posted pictures of me and my slippers and blanket. Truth is it's not cold. Beth set the thermostat at 76

We've had some leaks in our back room and the roofers were there to take a look
