Some bunny else

What a beautiful weekend we had. The temperatures actually reached the 80's yesterday. It's about time. I got to sit outside, enjoy some sunshine, see a Robin splashing in my birdbath and actually go outside without a coat. It was heaven.
Yesterday I had said that I would have some more Easter decorations to show you. Yesterday was the garden bunny and today it's some bunny else.
Another craft from ages ago. This one is showing the effects of time I'm afraid. The straw hat was painted white and it's beginning to chip off in several places. This is another one that I made LOTS of.

Several of you have asked me if I sell the things I make. I have considered it but have never gotten around to doing it. My ex mother in law used to always tell me that I should sell my crafts and I always told her that it would make it feel like a job and it wouldn't be any fun any more. But anyway, I pretty much just enjoy making things and I enjoy giving it to friends and family as gifts. Maybe some day I'll decide to start selling but for now I think I'll just keep it the way it is.

The garden bunny's storry

Today it is the garden bunny's turn to tell his side of the story. Not really so much about his dealings with Duke but more of a little of his history.

He was born about a dozen years ago right here at my house. And like any rabbit, if there is one there's bound to be more. I couldn't even tell you how many of these guys I ended up making. It seemed like it was a couple weeks that I had a pot on my stove filled with tea and tube socks. Yes, you read that right. He was made from tea dyed tube socks. The body is a 2 liter pop bottle and the head is a Styrofoam ball. Small wood pieces were used for his facial features. Eyebrows were drawn on with a marker and his cheeks and inside his ears were painted. Finished off with a few raffia whiskers and a bow around his neck.
He also carries with him his trusty garden bucket made from an old mushroom can with a wire handle. The bucket holds his purchased garden tools and a couple plastic carrots. I made these at Easter time but he usually sits out for most of the summer since he's not really an Easter bunny.

Since Easter is approaching, and over the weekend I drug out the Easter decorations, I'll be posting some Easter cuteness for the next few days.

Duke and the garden bunny

Today I am turning the blog over to Duke because he wants to tell you his story.

Hello everyone. Today I want to tell you about how I met the garden bunny and why I don't like him. You see my mom is growing a little tiny garden in an egg carton.
Mom was showing dad how all the seeds are growing and they were talking about how they'll plant them in the yard when it gets warmer. It sounded very exciting and I wanted to take a look.
Well apparently there is a bunny, who thinks he's some kind of gardener, watching over the whole thing. I mean really, just because he carries an old tin can with a pitchfork, shovel and silly plastic carrots doesn't mean he's in charge of things.
Stupid bunny yelled at me and told me to get away from the garden
MOM! Something has to be done about that bunny. I don't like him.

I'm just going to sit here and look sad but I'm really plotting my revenge on that silly bunny. He's back there laughing at me isn't he?

Bird Watching

There hasn't been a huge variety of birds at my feeder lately so I take what I can get when it comes to the pictures.
The ones that do come around sure do like the peanut suet cake that I've been putting out. I was entertained watching this one bird try to get at the last little bit. Correct me if I'm wrong but I believe this is a starling.

And again, if I'm wrong with the identification here please let me know but I believe that the one in the back is a morning dove.
