Post it's and screw ups

I have lots of post it notes all around my work area.

I recently had to put a new one up to remind not to make the same mistake I made on Monday Nov 17th. I was closing a loan and the customer came in early. I went through the signing with him, handed him his paper work and a check and he was out the door. That was when I realized I forgot to get his income verification. I ran to the parking lot to catch him before he left to ask him for it. He told me he didn't bring it with him. Even though on the phone I told him I needed his ID and income verification. He said it would drop it off later that day.

Half hour before the end of the day he still hadn't brought it. I called, full voicemail so i sent a text. Next morning I emailed my manager and told her what happened and she gave me suggestions on what to do. He called that day and said he would be in either the next day or Thursday. By Thursday he still had not come in. I sent him another text letting him know it was necessary for compliance. He called Friday morning and said he would be in. Finally he did show up with it and I could breathe a sigh of relief. My manager said if I didn't get it by the end of the month then I would have to let the VP know. what had happened.

Needless to say I have a new post it hanging up now.

Celery update

I still haven't killed it. I don't think it's as happy in the kitchen window anymore. I'm thinking it would prefer a little more heat. It's also getting some yellowed leaves but it hasn't died yet.

Black Friday

This post actually has nothing to do with Black Friday. It's about something I bought a couple Saturday's ago when I was out with Amanda. We stopped at a local thrift/consignment shop because they had posted on Facebook a bunch of Christmas village items that I wanted to check out.

I told you the ones in Walmart are really expensive this year so instead I bought these. The two larger ones were $7.99 each and the small one was .99 cents.

Happy Thanksgiving

So many things to be thankful for today. All of you are certainly on my list. I wish all my U.S. friends a very Happy Thanksgiving and those of you who live elsewhere I hope you have a wonderful day.

And here's some flowers that I got for you. I hope you like them.

Drawings year 2 week 24

This would have been a whole lot better if I wouldn't have put the eye where I did. After I drew it on I knew it didn't look right. That's when I realized that the eye is actually in that black area around it's beak

Work progress

I took these pictures on Saturday Nov 15 of the progress on the work behind my house. It looks like they are done with the drainage system they put in and now they're working on landscaping.

Are you joking.

Scrolling through Facebook one day I found a few things that I thought would make for a good blog post.

Who doesn't like a corny kids joke?

Enough

Amanda sent me a text recently while I was at work. It included the following

And this was part of our conversation afterwards.

She also stated the following in the conversation: "I sincerely will be disappointed if you don't blog that screenshot lol."

How could I disappoint her

First snow of the season

Monday November 10th we got our first snowfall of the season. I knew it was coming but it's always a bit of a shock when I first see it. This was when I got up and went to let Gibbs out.

By the time I was ready to leave for work it had stopped snowing and the drive in wasn't bad at all. It didn't snow much at all during the day and when I left to head home it was clear. I got on the interstate and was about half way to my exit when things started to get worse. There was a long line of traffic, the visibility was poor and everything was moving at about 35 miles an hour or slower. I had a death grip on the steering wheel and said a little prayer. I finally made it to my exit and the closer I got to home the clearer it got. By the time I made it home there was no snow again.

Soups on

Shout out and a big thank you to Denise for posting the recipe on her blog for this soup.

I think I made this on November 9th. Let me tell you. Not only was it delicious but my whole house smelled so good.

This is ground beef stew. So yummy.

Why did I think that would be a good idea

The Ann cave has two different arrangements. I have the couch one way in the summer and another way in the winter. After Gibbs was home from the groomers on the 8th, I decided I would move the furniture around. I'm not sure what made me do that because I had already run around doing errands and cleaned the house. My back hated me while I was doing it too.

Gibbs is happy because he can get up on the back of the couch and look out the window again.

Before and after

Saturday November 8th was the day Gibbs went to the groomers. Here he is on the way there.

I dropped him off about 7:45 then headed to Walmart to do my grocery shopping. About 8:15 my phone rings and it's the groomers. I answer and the cheery voice on the other end says "Gibbs had an appointment at 8:00 this morning, did you still want to keep that?"

Me "Um, yeah, he's already there"

She starts laughing and says oh I'm sorry.

So here he is on the ride home.

When AI inherits everything

The following post was written by Bing's copilot. It was inspired after I read THIS POST on Jean's blog cheerfulmonk.com

I recently read a comic that stopped me in my tracks: "I asked A.I. to write my will and now apparently I'm leaving all my money to A.I."

It’s funny because it’s almost believable. In a world where algorithms help us shop, date, and even write our emails, why not draft our wills too? But the punchline hits harder when you realize how much trust we’re placing in machines—sometimes without reading the fine print.

I imagined a smug little robot polishing its new yacht, sipping synthetic champagne, while I sit in the cloud (not the digital kind) wondering where my estate went. It’s a cautionary tale wrapped in humor: AI can assist, but it shouldn’t inherit.

So here’s my takeaway: Let AI help you brainstorm, organize, and even draft—but when it comes to your legacy, make sure a human (preferably one with a law degree) has the final say.

Pilgrim

After Halloween I went back to Bing's copilot and asked him to change the picture of Gibbs in his pumpkin costume to a pilgrim.

Isn't this the cutest pilgrim you have ever seen?

I wonder if he thinks he'll score some turkey if he's dressed like this.

Fender bender.

Friday 11/7 I was by myself all day at work. The other girl called off because she had been at the emergency vet early that morning and her dog needed to be watched all day.

It wasn't as bad as I thought it would be. I kept myself occupied with work and other things that I take with me. I always have something to read and usually some kind of craft project as well. While I was sitting there I heard a noise, looked up and when I looked across the street I saw a car that had hit a truck coming out of the grocery store parking lot. It's a very busy street and I'm surprised this doesn't happen more often.

The two drivers came across the street to our parking lot to assess the damage and exchange info. Sorry about the pictures. I took them through our blinds. I can see out but they can't see in. The car had some damage done to the front drivers side but I couldn't tell if there was any damage done to the truck as she had hit the front drivers side of the truck. Who's fault was it? That I really can't say since I didn't actually see it happen

A Friday morning

Last Friday morning I went out with Gibbs and noticed how pretty the sky looked. I tried to capture it but of course the picture doesn't do it justice.

Then of course Gibbs wanted out again after it got light. I had to go out with him again because by that time the guys were out there working and he barks non stop at them. I try and control the barking but he's like a disobedient teen who doesn't listen at all.

The guys are still working on that drainage system. I'm glad to see they are making efforts to control any possible flooding

Drawings year 2 week 22

Only 6 drawings this time because one day I totally forgot about drawing anything.
