They say it's your birthday

Happy birthday to me! Yes, it's my birthday today. I can't believe I'm 64 years old today. Where did the years go?

I took Thursday and Friday off from work so I would have a 4 day weekend for my birthday. I have no plans as of the time I am writing this post. (This is actually being scheduled on the 15th) I'll be sure and post about whatever I do. After all anything is fair game when it comes to blog material.

This was me in kindergarten

Not sure how old I was here but under 5 as we moved from this house when I was 5 years old.

My senior portrait and me as a baby

And last but not least is me today. Taken at work on a day when I was there by myself. A lot grayer, a lot heavier and whole heck of a lot older. But at least I'm still here to blog about it and that's something worth celebrating.

Friday the 13th

Just one week ago, it was Friday the 13th. I've never thought it to be a particularly unlucky day. But I did find it rather unlucky to have to scrape frost off my window before heading to work. And the temperature was surely not on my side either.

In the above picture I thought the headlights shining on the forsythia bushes made it look like they were on fire. That would definitely be bad luck

Then I got to work. As I was sitting there a police car went racing by with sirens blaring. It pulled into the plaza parking lot across the street.

I don't know what was going on but that was also bad luck for someone.

Blinded by the light

It's so nice to see the sun coming out more and more. It does get a bit difficult to drive sometimes when it's trying to blind you though.

The one day on my way home from work I tried to get a picture of how bad it was. Of course I was paying attention to the road so didn't know what I was getting for pictures.

This is in no way meant as a confession that I was attempting to take pictures while driving down the highway. If asked I will deny everything.

Little buds

It's so exciting this time of year when you see even the smallest sign that spring is on it's way. I was so happy to see these buds on my lilac bush

Happy St. Patrick's Day

Today everyone claims to be a wee bit Irish. I wonder if that has anything to do with the green beer?

This little guy decided he would be wearing green today to see if it brings him any luck

Isn't he just the cutest little leprechaun you've ever seen?

To celebrate the day I used my phones text message app to turn myself into a leprechaun. When I saw the results I was amazed at how much this actually looked like my brother and my father

Whatever you do today, may the luck of the Irish be with you.

Stress test day

Last Wednesday, March 11th, I took the day off work for my stress test. My appointment was for 8;30 which was good because I wasn't allowed to have anything to eat or drink before the test.

I got there and they hooked me up for the IV and sent me back to the waiting room. They were doing a couple of them so we took turns going in and then coming back out to the waiting room.

My next time in was for pictures. The tech who did this was so nice and cracked jokes most of the time. He carried my purse back and forth to the waiting room and he said that he carries more purses than most straight men.

I was thrilled when they brought me a cup of coffee. I think I drank it extra fast. The tech said he would only charge me $10 but the price went up to $20 during the conversation. He said that people desperate for coffee will pay anything

They took the coffee away, had me walk the treadmill at a slow pace for 1 minute then sent me back to the waiting room. My last trip back was for more pictures. Then I was on my way.

The doctor called me that evening and said that there was nothing serious enough to require immediate attention but they did see a narrowing of one of the arteries. I'm supposed to get a CT scan which is the least invasive procedure but sometimes the insurance companies won't approve that. In that case then it will be a cathetarization.  As I write this I haven't gotten a call from the hospital yet to schedule that. Will keep everyone updated on the progress though.

Drawings year 2 week 39

Looking at this one now, I think I should have put a title on the book. What book do you suppose this little bunny is reading?

A Saturday doctors appointment

Have you ever heard of such a thing? The cardiologists office does Saturday appointments but only to do echocardiograms. It was a shame they had to work last Saturday because it was a beautiful morning. The temp was 72 when I got there.

After I sat down there were some Amish people that walked in.

On the drive there I had to stop for men working on the electric lines.

Not sure I would like this job. Being all the way up there in that little bucket would be a little scary.

Look up.

I could never get tired of looking up at the sky. It's always changing and it's always amazing. Well maybe not so much when it's gray and cloudy but I love a blue sky.

Last Friday.

Our weather is finally getting better. That doesn't mean we are out of the woods yet but it's been a nice change. Last Friday I think it reached the 60s. When I got home and let Gibbs out I took a walk around the yard.

The lilac has buds on it.

The daffodils have popped up through the ground
And there's bud on the tree in the back yard. I didn't look at the one in the front

Appointment day

Wednesday March 4th started out with a foggy drive to work.

I left early that day because I had my first appointment with the cardiologist. Took a few pictures while I was in the waiting room

This guy kept me company
The appointment was set because of a few issues I'm having so that they can rule things out. While there they did an EKG which was fine, she said my heart and carotid sounded fine. They set up threee more appointments one for an echocardiogram, one for a stress test and the third for a follow up.

It's a happy day

I've been holding the news until Amanda said I could write about it. Her and her husband got a house. Not only did they get a house but it's just up the street from me. My daughter is my neighbor. Hooray!!!!

Today is her closing so it's the perfect day to post about this. I don't have a ton of pictures just a few that I took off the realtors website.

This is the front of the house. I asked if she was going to keep that pompas grass and she said NO. She already has plans for what she'll plant there.

This is the side of the house. I'm kind of jealous that she has a garage.

She also has this awesome sun room on the front of the house. I would love this.

A blast from the past

Going back to 2015 just look at how cute Gibbs was

When I went back to 2010 I found Gibbs's predecessor Duke. Unfortunately they were shaggy Duke pictures.

Here's one of him after he'd been to the groomer. This little guy was my soul dog. I loved him to pieces. Unfortunately I only had 7 years with him

Will it ever end?

At the end of last week we had a couple days that were 50 or close to it. Then on Sunday March 1st, I woke up to this.

I can't say what the rest of the week will bring since I'm writing this on March 1st but the forecast is calling for lots of rain.

Of course I had to take a picture of the tree in my back yard. This may be the most photographed tree ever.
Then I asked my messages app to redo the photo without the buildings, just the tree looking lonely and isolated.
