Weekends and ear scritches. Those are two of Duke's favorite things.
This has been one heck of a week and I'm so glad that this is Friday and I can start my weekend at 2:30.

Red White and Blue
Red, white and blue aren't just for the 4th of July and other patriotic holidays. It's a great color combination that is good any time of the year.
I've was working on a little project right before Memorial day and it's almost finished but not quite.
Luckily I already had some red, white and blue spray paint left over from something else.
I bought a big package of clothespins and wire wreath form and I was ready to go. The wind even died down enough for me to take this outside to spray. The wreath form was green so I painted that white. Then I painted some of the clothespins blue, some white and some red.
Once they were dry I started clipping them on to the wreath form.
And here is what it looks like right now. The inspiration for this project came from Cats Craft Room. She added stars to the blue section and I think I'm going to do the same thing to give it a little something extra. She also has hers hanging with a white ribbon which dresses it up a bit more too.
I didn't clip my clothespins on the same way that she did. For some reason it just wasn't looking right when I did it her way. It's easily changed though if I decide to try it again since these aren't glued on at all.

Accident
Sunday evening I heard a loud noise outside and when I looked out the window I saw what I thought was fireworks. More sparks flying and a closer look told me that someone had just hit a telephone pole one street over from me.
Now don't ask me why, but I went out and headed up there. I don't have any medical training of any kind but I thought I could at least make sure that someone had been called. I think half the neighborhood turned out and we all stood around talking about what we saw or heard. (so little excitement in a small town.)
The driver was along except for a dog. The driver was about mid twenties and it looked like his head hit the windshield. He was up and walking. Someone said that when he got out of the car he started walking and saying he had to go pick up his wife and they told him no you need to sit down. The dog didn't appear to be hurt at all but it was very nervous and not willing to go to anyone. It kept running around barking and try as we might we could not catch it. It ended up running off down the street. Someone did go looking for it and I do hope they found it.
These aren't great pictures but you can kind of see they have the car up on the truck and the front end is all smashed in.
After I walked back home, being a real blogger I went up and took these pictures out my bedroom window.
