How long till Spring

 I'm digging for blog material so I'm taking what I can can get right now. Friday morning I took screen shots of my phone to show you the kind of weather we're getting right now.

1 degree is cold enough but the next day was even worse.

And the 7 day forecast

I feel like this cold and snow is never going to end.

Saturday morning.

Hooray for a day off but it was only -11 when U got up and I had to go outta Walmart to pick up a prescription and dog food.

When I went out to start the car it didn't want to. I begged and pleaded and it reluctantly turned over.

I got to Walmart a little before 9 so I could be first in line. 

Got my stuff, checked out and headed back home. A birthday party in the afternoon and then Im hibernating until Monday

Getting ready for Valentines day.

 I know it's a little early but I was playing again with AI. 

This first one I did using Bing's copilot. I asked it to put Gibbs in a Valentines decorated room

It did a good job of taking him out of the original picture but I must say that room is a little much.

Next I asked remix in my messages app to turn it into a pencil sketch and this is what I got.

I liked this one a lot.

More lake effect and another call off day.

 Thursday Jan 15th we got hit with another round of lake effect snow. This is what it looked like out my window that day. 

I was able to get out of the driveway so I made an attempt to go to work. I got 2, maybe three miles away from home and I went up a hill to turn on to one of the main roads. There's a flashing light there and I had to make a complete stop to wait for another car. When I went to go I couldn't. I just sat there spinning my tires. I tried backing up a little and going again but no luck. I was able to turn so I turned around right there in the road and went back home and called off. 

Later I was so glad that I did because all day I kept hearing about accidents happening because of the weather. There were several multi car pileups and my alternate route for bad weather had traffic backed up because of people getting stuck on that hill and not being able to make it up. 

Happy email for me

 When I was at work the one day I got an email from the president of our division. This was certainly a happy email.

There was also my 6 month review. They sent me questions that I had to answer about myself and how I thought I was doing. I hate things like that but it was mandatory. I didn't realize I was going to get it back with the reviewers responses on it. This is a lot so feel free to skip over an of it. Made me feel good that it was all favorable.

More felt ornaments.

 I finished 6 of the felt fox ornaments.

I still have the orange one cut out and will probably go ahead and finish that too. I also cut an extra head piece so I may cut the cheeks too and do one more.

Another felt ornament I made was this cute little gnome. This is for all you gnome lovers out there.

I'm currently working on snowmen heads. I'll show you those when I'm finished with them.

Presley's gift, the lipstick box and the bag

 Her party isn't until this coming Saturday but I wanted to have everything ready in plenty of time so I wasn't rushing.

I just bought a bunch of stuff that I could load the gift bag up with. 

My first attempt at the lipstick box didn't come out so good. I have it stacked here but the very top part was very fiddly to glue together. I didn't have it quite right and it didn't line up right to glue the last part down.

I gave it another try and it worked much better the second time around.

As for the plain white gift bag I bought, I glued strips of black cardstock to it. Then I made a gift tag with red lips on it. I still need to add a hanger to the tag.

Lake effect

 I dread hearing those words and it seems like I've heard them way too many times already this winter . 

It started on Sun Jan 11. I took this when I let Gibbs out the first time.

Drawings year 2 week 32

 

I'm not quite sure why, but this one is rather blurry compared to the rest. I was going to retake the picture but figured it was good enough.

The aroma gets me

 There is a little Caesars pizza shop right behind the building where I work. I took a picture off of google maps. The red arrow points to where I work. That green part off the roof is our office.

They start making pizzas and it's all I can smell. It makes me so incredibly hungry and it's so tempting to skip the lunch I brough and walk over and get something else. So far I've been strong enough to resist the temptation.

The funny thing is, it wasn't until it started getting cold that we were able to smell the food. During the summer I don't remember ever being able to smell it.

Upcoming birthday party

 Presley's birthday is this month and her party is coming up soon. The theme this year is Sephora. I was struggling with ideas for what to do. Then I saw something that SVG cuts had. It's part of a set but I was able to purchase the cut file for just the lipstick box. I'm still working on getting that made but it can hold a small gift. I had to take a picture of my computer screen so you could see what the lipstick box looks like. 

I'll also have a gift bag full of girly things like hair stuff, nail polish and lip gloss. I may have bought some other things but can't remember now.

I couldn't find a gift bag that looked like a sephora bag so I bought a plain white one and I'm thinking of putting something on it but I'm not quite sure  yet. If anyone has any suggestions please feel free to share.

More ornaments.

 Creating the felt ornaments is an easy project to do while I'm at work. These will be for a Christmas present. I had intended to take them to work but I ended up finishing all three in one night.

Little snowmen

 I can't believe I forgot to tell you about the smallest of the snowmen that I got for Christmas. I believe these are ornaments because they have the little hook on top to add a hanger. I think they might just be cute additions in my village.

First are these two. They are identical. Aren't they they the cutest little guys you have ever seen? 

And this is my favorite of the 3. I have seen a lot of snowmen in my time but this is the first one I have ever seen mowing.

Cards

 This year I got 20 Christmas cards and almost all of them were from blog friends. I have two that were my absolute favorites. Which doesn't mean that I didn't like the rest. These two just sort of stood out.

The one on the left had me totally fascinated. I just love this. The one on the rights, I just loved that little Santa's sack  

Each of  you that sent me a card I thank you so very much. They were all much appreciated.

Doctors appointment

 Since I have health insurance again, I decided it was time to schedule a wellness exam. My appointment was on Tuesday !/6 at 3:30. I decided I would only work a half day and left at 1:00.  That gave me plenty of time to stop at a couple of my favorite stores. 

My first stop was Boscovs. I bought this pair of slippers 

Then I went to Hobby Lobby. I took a picture while I was walking through the store and sent it to Amanda asking if she knew where I was

Of course she knew. While I was there I got a couple things that were perfect for next years Christmas gifts. I also bought some yarn, a couple pieces of cardstock for a project I'm going to work on and a tote bag to use for work. I may or may not add something to the front of it.

Before heading to the doctors I stopped at Burger King for lunch

I didn't leave the doctors office until 5:13. I didn't think I would be there that late. She's changing my prescription for my arthritis. Hopefully it will help with the pain I've had in my knees. I also have to get blood work, a mammogram, and she's setting me up with a cardiologist because lately I get winded any time I do anything strenuous.
