Let it snow

Someone around here must have sang a few too many choruses of that song because we got blasted again with a lake effect snow storm.

December 30th was a rough ride home from work. Nothing I haven't driven in before though. While I wasn't slipping around or spinning my wheels, it was very slow going.

I woke up Wednesday morning and had to push the snow with the door to let Gibbs out. He didn't want to go out the door though since the snow was up to his back. I had to squeeze through to shovel a spot for him.

Then I went out the front to shovel the sidewalk and clean off the car. Afterwards, I realized I wasn't going to get out the driveway. I went back inside and sent the text messages to call off. I didn't want to do it since that meant losing holiday pay for New Years day but there was no way I was getting through the end of my driveway.

Shortly before noon the lawn guy showed up to plow. Check out the pile of snow at the end of my driveway

The next day was New Years day so I didn't have to go out at all. Good thing because we got blasted again with even more snow. Thankfully shortly before noon the lawn guy plowed again. The pile of snow is growing

Friday morning it was still snowing like crazy but we didn't get a whole lot more overnight. I was able to get out the driveway so I made the very slow and careful drive to work. It finally stopped snowing after I got there and the ride home that night was very uneventful.

Here on the hill we got a billion pounds of snow during Christmas Staycation so I can relate to this post. Today, it's nice out this morning. That winter stillness when it's still dark. I love that quiet. I just love that part of winter. Happy 2026. Stay safe.

I am thankful that we have not gotten much snow this year and we are having above normal temperatures most days this month.

That snow pile really is growing. Thank goodness the yard guy came to move a lot of the snow. I can not imagine ever having this much white stuff.

That makes our small snowfall look most insignificant!

Snow is beautiful, but only if I don't have to go somewhere when it's snowing. I'm glad you made it to work on Friday.

Have a fabulous day and rest of the week, Ann. Big hug to you and lots of scritches to Gibbs. ♥

I have to admit I'm glad I don't have to contend with snowy roads and driveways that I can't get out of. Its sure pretty though. Poor Gibbs ...
Its hard to miss work and pay but I guess that's the way it is in your part of the world.

We don't have any place that we NEED to go so don't mind the snow.

Sorry you got all that snow. I know what it means having to shovel out to get to work and sometimes it's just not possible to do that. We have had no snow and I am wondering when we will. That's great that you have someone to plow your driveway and that is one heck of a snow pile.
