Took me long enough

Remember when I said I bought myself a new sewing machine for Christmas? It was the brother computerized embroidery/sewing machine. When I bought the machine I neglected to order all the supplies needed to be able to try out the embroidery. I did finally get around to ordering the things I needed and they came in the mail last Saturday. You would have thought I would have jumped right on it and tried out the machine. But no, I procrastinated. Finally on Tuesday I pulled the machine out and set it up first attempt I wasn’t sure if I was doing every thing right so I started off with just a plain round circle.
first attempt2
Since that came out ok I added my name. It was so much easier than I thought it would be but this was all I did for the day.
Now I need to come up with some projects to add embroidery to. I’ve already found several sites that offer free designs and everyone knows how I love free. The machine does come preloaded with designs but not a whole lot and not necessarily things I would want to use.
Now to find some spare time to play.

On another note. The pictures look horrible today because I had to use Windows live writer to do my post. I don't know if anyone else has had a problem or not but when I went to do my post I clicked on the insert picture and it didn't give me an option for uploading from my computer. What's up with that?

I played with Windows Live a couple of times...a couple of years ago...and decided I didn't like it. So, I primarily use Blogger or BlogPress on my iphone or ipad. Your new machine looks TERRIFIC! Think of all the fun you can have with that!!! They have lots and lots of dog patterns...you can make Dog Beds for Duke!! I have all kinds of ideas rattling around in my head now!! Go Ann!!

so far, 'knock wood'...I can still upload photos from the computer. But who's to say what'll happen in a few hours?

I think this new gadget machine is awesome. I can't wait to see what designs you come up with - I just know they'll be great.

I have a funny feeling that any "good" pictures of Duke will upload just fine.

Wow - you did that on a machine? I want to know all the techie details - do you program in the letters you want and choose a font and then just let it rip? Or, as I think it must be, is it much more complicated than that?

How cool. You did really well for your first try. I'm sure you'll find lots of great projects to do and we all want to see them too.

Have a terrific day. My best to Duke. :)

So cool! I can't wait to see what you make with it! My machine does a few simple things but nothing like this.
Hope the uploading problem is fixed soon too.

Looks like you will be busy... see the trick is you do your first project and say, hey that wasn't so bad... then you do more, and more, and more... and you wonder how it is already time to go back to work! lol..

Have a great weekend!
Hugs, antonella :-)

Uh Oh---you are the 2nd person I have visited today who is talking about a blogger problem uploading a picture... GADS--I hope Blogger is not going to change something else.

LOVE what you have done already with your new toy. I love seeing embroidery work.. I used to have a rainboat with my initials embroidered on the collar. Hubby has some hankies which have his initial(s) embroidered on them. I'm sure you will have so much fun with your new machine. CONGRATS.

Have a great weekend.
Hugs,
Betsy

Love what you are doing with your machine. I seem to not even be interested in mine. Blogger seems to be working for me, so I'm no help there.
