Remember back when I bought my new camera? Well on that day we also bought a new tv. The one we had in the bedroom died and we moved the 32" tv from the living room up to the bedroom and bought a 43" tv for the living room. I didn't want anything bigger than that because the living room isn't very big.
Any way, the tv stand we had wasn't wide enough to hold the new tv so until I could find a new tv stand we improvised. This is what it looked like from 2/25 until just yesterday.
Here's a closer look at the redneck set up we had. Is that not the most hideous looking thing ever?
I couldn't stand looking at it any more and finally last Monday I went out and bought a new tv stand. It sat in the box until yesterday. Wade had the day off so he had all day to put it together while I was working. I like this much better.
I might want to hide that power strip underneath it just a bit better though

Good Morning, Ann. Well, at least you could use the tv with the improvised tv stand! lol I do love the new tv cabinet. Very pretty.
I had a horrid feeling that the new TV would fall over but all is well and looking good :-)

us rednecks are always good at 'make do' and you did make do.. what ever works is what we do.. nice cabinet now and the perfect size.
much better, although the redneck version was unique LOL. I had mine at the lake on a shelving unit, it was cheaper than a stand and I could fill the bottom with treasures.I have a friend who has a 92 inch, and they are rednecks they claim.
Love the redneck TV stand. But the new one does look really good. Happy Easter to you.
You have to do what you have to do until you get the new stand. I would have done the same thing. It's good to be a red neck. I'd rather be that than many other things.
Have a fabulous day, Ann. Big hug to you and lots of scritches to Gibbs. ♥♥♥
It is beautiful! And will also hold and hide lots of stuff. I admit your old fit was pretty ugly. But it amazes me that you made such an ingenious fit! I would never be able to think of this, and the T.V. would have ended up on the floor.
Sometimes we do want to have to in order to get things done . . . I've lived with a lot of redneck fixes in my days. They make you appreciate the finer things when you can finally have them. We have been moved into our house almost three years now, and I still have wires coming down from the living room ceiling. I bought a light for it three years ago, but still do not have it installed.
That's too funny! I really like the new stand you bought. Hooray for the new TV and stand....
That's kind of a scary looking set-up. Good thing you don't have cats - that tv would have been a goner!
What a redneck looking tv stand!! hahaha....kidding. You do what you have to do at the giving time that it needs doing. But, that also gives you time to let it either grow on you or you decide what you want to do different. Looks like the different got you! haha.
aren't rednecks problem solvers which makes them engineers? lmao
I really like your new stand. :) no t.v. in the bedroom here. :)
I'm so glad hubby will be helping cook tomorrow.
hugs,
Marie
Nice! Happy viewing on the new big screen.
