I've been working on making some ornaments. To make them I need to print out vintage Christmas images. I think my printer has been hanging out at Lin's house with her fridge and her microwave though.
I printed a sheet of images and they didn't looks so good so I changed the color cartridge since I knew it was low. Then it instructs you to print an alignment page which I did. Then you scan the alignment page which I tried to do. It failed. The alignment page didn't print real well and the scan kept failing. I tried to clean the print head, no difference. Next I cleaned the paper feed, no difference. I could get an image to print but there were very visible lines through them. I gave up.
At work on Sunday I asked the two I was working with if they had any suggestions. One of them told me to try and wipe off my black cartridge with alcohol. I did it and it worked. YEAH.
The ornaments you can't see have a Santa image that sort of had lines through the picture but not too terribly bad. I'll just give those to the people I don't like as much.
Aside from making ornament I also made another batch of index cards. Here's the one for today

Sometimes the remedy to fix is so simple.I went through this before myself.I don't print much so my heads dry out.
Don't you hate it when appliances and such just quit on you? Ugh. I'm glad you got it figured out though. Hooray!
I love that you give the people you don't like so much the stinky ones! Hahaha!
Oh they look great! Love them & glad you fixed the problem!
Your honesty is refreshing & those you don't like as much will receive a nice tag anyways!
that is what i would write on my santa snowman if i had one. love it. and i can't see the black lines so don't tell the people you don't like and they will never know.
Well, I didn't know this about the printer. Good advice.
I love the index card. I love your snarky index cards.
Have a fabulous day Ann. Big hug to you and tons of scritches to Gibbs. ♥♥♥
What a fun card - just made me smile!
Technology can be very frustrating but you were more persistent with it than I'd be! I give up way too easily! Cute card!
Heehee that's what I do with my Christmas cookies that don't look perfect! :) The ornaments are cute and I love the card!
Those ornaments turned out so cute!! Love the "snow" card too :)
I had that problem with my printer not long ago. I wish I had known about wiping it with alcohol. I actually went and bought a new cartridge...
Printers are a bane to my existence. To be quite honest about it, I do not really know what that means, but I am sure that it is not good. Sigh.
haha I like you method for gifting slightly less than perfect projects :)
