According to Merriam Webster the simple definition of art is something that is created with imagination and skill or that expresses important ideas for feelings.
I happen to believe that art can be created by accident or maybe unintentionally. For example, here is a portion of the paper that protects my work table when I do any painting.
Now you could argue that this is not art but I've seen expensive pieces of art that are not much unlike this. It might not necessarily be art that appeals to your taste but does that make it less artistic?
Personally I think art is very difficult to define and is more a matter of personal taste than anything else.

Actually that looks really cool! You should frame it :)
you should try framing this and put it out when you sell your crafts and see if anyone buys it. i am with you, it looks like art to me...
They have had a few animal artists, to each is their own on matter of taste.I like to know a bit about the artist,I know you somewhat personally so it adds to your creations.
It is personal taste. There are pieces of art that are worth millions, and I would pass. Don't find them attractive at all. There are other pieces of art that are very inexpensive that I like.
Have a fabulous day Ann. Big hug to you and tons of scritches to Gibbs. ♥♥♥
I like it, beauty is in the eye of the beholder and I would deem this art!
That's actually very beautiful and I agree that you should frame it!
Yup, cut that puppy out and frame it! The art form it represents would be abstract expressionism, I believe.
Oh you are so right about that. It all depends on the individual as to likes and dislikes as far as art goes. You do a great job with your craftiness.
Your paper looks very good, very abstract and nice colours
From the first I saw this, I thought it was an expensive painting! I have seen much much uglier. I totally agree with what you are saying.
That's much better art than some of the pieces I saw at the Portland Art Museum! Seriously!
I say frame it, it's fab! Deb xo
