I've been going through my huge stack of old craft magazines and getting rid of the ones that have nothing of interest in them. As I was working my way through a pile the other day I came across a project that used black card stock and bleach.
They put stickers on the black card stock, sprayed it with bleach and the pealed off the stickers. I thought it sounded like fun so I gave it a try.
Since this was just an experiment to see how it worked I used some green card stock and some round reinforcement stickers that you would use on notebook paper holes.
After the bleach dried and I peeled off the stickers (they stuck a bit which is what the white spots are) I used a black marker to draw circles dots and lines. Then to give it a little texture I ran it through my crimper first one way, then the other. Lastly I added some green glitter glue just for fun. I think it looked pretty cool. The photo below is the finished piece sitting on top of the original paper that I started with.
I think this might look really nice on some blue cardstock using snowflake stickers. That might be next.

What a great idea! It really made a neat design pattern!
Interesting to try, I can hear that crafter brain clicking.
I am impressed, looking at the finished product I would never think about it coming from that green card stock.. can't wait to see the next project..
Cool idea! I pick up a lot of free magazines from the guild meetings and while watching TV I go thru and pull out all the quilt patterns that one day I hope to make.
Have a great day ... K

And there is that marvelous creative brain of yours at work yet again.
The results are so pretty! I would have thought that spraying it with bleach would make the whole card white!
