Last week

Being off work, I'm having trouble distinguishing one day from the next. I'm also stuck in the house, alone with Gibbs most of the time so there's not much to say about any one day.

I already blogged about my horrible start to the week and now I'll talk about the end of it. What I can remember anyway. The weather has been cold so there was no more walking except for the indoor walking. Thursday I did get myself to work on some crafty projects. I pulled out the Cricut and brushed off the dust. I didn't finish them on this day but I did manage to complete two projects which I will show in two different posts.

The weather was supposed to be bad for the weekend, calling for more snow and ice so Friday I had to get out before Gibbs ran out of dog food. I headed to Walmart and walked ALL the aisles for the exercise and just because it was nice to be somewhere besides home. (I never thought I would say that)
After I finished my shopping and was putting everything in the car I noticed a girl doing the same. She stood out because of the way she was dressed. Let me point out here that the temperature was somewhere in the low 20's

I got a chill just looking at her. Even when I was young I couldn't dress like that when it was that cold.

After that it was back home for more hibernation. I don't think we ever got any of the ice but it did snow Saturday night. I took these through the door Sunday morning when I let Gibbs out for his morning constitutional.

I see young people out all the time in shorts when it is freezing! It really seems to be a thing now. I saw a story on the news about it being really cool for teenagers to go out to parties and such dressed really skimpy in the freezing cold. What a dumb thing to do!!

In my mind, I want nothing more than to be home but I do know that if I was there full time I'd probably go a bit stir crazy. I see people in short sleeves and shorts here too and I just don't get it. I'm a bit warm blooded but that's crazy to even me.

Our temps do not get anywhere near what you all get, but around here, many people wear shorts and a sweatshirt hoodie. I guess their legs do not get cold. LOL. Perhaps you could find an AT HOME job where you wouldn't have to get out in the weather, but yet could occupy your time with some income. Just a thought. Stay warm Ann...it looks very chilly there.

Ugh...February weather. At least it is a short month. Then...you just have March and spring will be soon! Hang tough. It's hard to be home during the "trifecta of hell"...which is what I used to call January/February/March when I was a stay at home mom with two babies. Glad you got out a bit!

Brrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr now I have a chill. I now her...her name is Rene!!
Way back when I was gainfully employed I worked with some of the most wonderful students and professors. One day in November one of the male grad students walked into my office wearing shorts, flip flops and a short sleeve tshirt. It was about 25 degrees. I casually asked where in the world did you get up?
Per chance a warmer place that Raleigh. Well he innocently replied at Rene's (his girlfriend). Then he went on to try to explain...I said time out TOO MUCH INFO...just thought maybe you were returning from a trip home to Mississippi
We giggled about this often. He even told his lab co workers what happened. So now anytime Bryan and I see a guy dressed like ti is summer we say he must know Rene or if we see a gal we say that is Rene.

I'm sorry that you are going through this change. Hopefully a job will come soon. It is often hard to remember what day it is, they all seem to run together when your retired. Glad you did get out and started on some projects. That girl was crazy being dressed that way.

Yes, I know what you are talking about. Often Dave and I say to each other..is this Monday or Tuesday, especially when we have been sick and missed church. Retired life is great for us but then again we are 81 and 83.. Sleeping in and just puttering can be the Best, but I too get bored if I don't have anything to look forward to.
Glad to see you working on some projects and staying out of that cold...Brrr...
