last minute decision

I've been stressing over getting the blood work done that I need to have before my cathetarization. I couldn't figure out if the orders had been placed and where I needed to go. Mostly I only got ahold of automated answering machines. I hate those things.

Firday morning I finally found the orders on my patient portal. I made the last minute decision to leave early and get it done. The place I needed to go was close to work. I got there early and walked in. There was no one there. Not a check in window or anything

They actually had check in kiosks instead. I signed in and just sat down when they called me back. I was in and out in no time but now I had almost an hour before I needed to be at work. McDonalds for breakfast it is.

Good grief, entirely automatic registration? We haven't encountered that yet, but I guess we will.

Rick has that at Kaiser. Pretty soon we won't even need people at all.

The automated answering machines are so annoying. A check-in kiosk seems very impersonal?!

Ann I am amazed at how everything is becoming automated...the next thing will be a robot taking your blood - lol - Hugs!

I'm glad you got it done. Good for you and no waiting either. That lessens the stress.

Have a fabulous day and rest of the week. Big hug to you and lots of scritches to Gibbs. ♥

I'm so glad you were able to get your lab work done. It does seem strange to have everything done digitally but I guess that's the way of the future. Robots will direct and plan our lives .. it's coming ...
Hope you can get your medical procedures done done with no problems and get your health in ship shape again.
hugs and prayers

When we went to a cardiologist in St. Louis, they had the automated check ins, but they did have actual people there also. Everything is going automated.

Here in Montreal, when you have an appointment and show up for it at the stipulated time, there is a machine where you can register to alert the staff that you are there....you have to use your Medicare card.
So you no longer have to see a human for it.
I have only used it once so far, because they are slowly introducing this and not every place has it yet.

I'm glad that worked out for you and you were able to go and have breakfast.
