Update

Not sure if I posted about the doctor calling me on a Saturday evening to give me results about my CT scan or not. I think I did but we'll start from there.

I got a text from Walmart that the prescriptions were in. With all the meds I'm taking now I feel like I could open my own pharmacy

I got a letter in the mail saying that my insurance claim was denied for the CT scan because there was no pre-authorization. Now I need to call the doctors office and see if they will resubmit that so that the insurance company will pay for it. I believe the bill for that was over $3000.

The hospital called and scheduled my cathetarization for May 18th. I need to go get blood work done before that so I also need the doctors office to send an order for that. I think I can get it done at a place not far from work and that way I can just go in a little late.

And that's where I'm sitting right now. Amanda did say she would drive me the day I have the cathetarization done. We shall see if it'll be a one day thing or an overnight stay.

No mam! I hadn't seen this... A man in our Sunday school class had a heart cath done last Friday and was at class on Sunday...no overnighter. If she can, and you are a little nervous about it and you're not staying overnight, ask Amanda to spend the night. And you can always ask the Doctor if he would order your overnight stay. Insurance pays...
I know you'll do great though...just limit the use of your arm for about 48hrs... nothing strenuous.
Sending prayers for a great experience... well, it Could be with enough chocolate and ice cream...just saying!
Big hug

I was thinking about this the other day so thank you for the update. I know all of this is stressful, especially all of the unknowns but keep your spirits up my friend.

Oh gosh! And to think you have to deal with the insurance company on top of the anticipation for the procedure! Hope all goes well and you have a easy recovery.

I hope you get the insurance authorization fixed. That's a huge bill. I don't know anything about the upcoming procedure, but I know they will explain it to you soon. You need to know before the procedure. Big hugs, my friend. ♥

I truly hope your doctor can help you with that insurance claim. Good luck with the tests, Ann!

I hope the authorisation and claims are approved rapidly. It will be good to have the treatment completed.

That’s a lot to juggle at once. The insurance denial is frustrating, but it’s pretty common with CT scans. Definitely worth calling the doctor’s office and asking them to resubmit with the proper pre-authorisation or supporting notes, they usually handle that sort of thing. It could save you a big bill. Good that the catheterisation is already scheduled, and having Amanda lined up to drive you helps take a bit off your plate. Getting the blood work done near work sounds like a sensible plan too. Hope everything goes smoothly over the next couple of weeks.

Dang hoops with insurance is a major stall tactic on their part and patients have do all the jumping. I hope the approval is given soon. Looks like if you need a cauterization that would be proof enough for the CT scan.
Hugs all is quickly solved

Hopefully the doctor will be able to resubmit the pre-authorization and get this taken care of. Praying all is good with your cath and that you get a good report. I find out Thursday if I will be having one... Not looking forward to it. Just added you to my prayer list.

I hope you can get your doctor to redo the application form for the insurance. Sounds like Donna gave you some good advice. It's nerve-racking I know and I hope you can get in and out in one day. Sending you lots of good vibes and happy thoughts :)

I hope the doctor will resubmit and get prior authorization, so you don't have to pay for that yourself. Lots of pills. Thank you for keeping us informed.

Having to have the catheterization would be more than stressful enough. Fingers crossed the insurance mess gets cleared up -- that's huge bill!
