...but I think I'm glad I'm going back to work today. The weekend flew by and although I didn't get it all done I did more than I thought I would.
Well I already told you yesterday that I got the tree decorated. Maybe I should rephrase that and say I put the ornaments on the tree in a haphazard fashion. Either way, it's adorned with ornaments.
I sat down last night to start addressing Christmas cards. I no sooner got started than a friend of ours called and asked where we were. He was having an after hunting party in his garage and we had been invited. We were planning on skipping it because it was so cold out. We figured we wouldn't be missed. We figured wrong. We bundled up and headed out.
Sunday morning I decided I was going to tackle the baking. I pulled out all my ingredients, got out a bowl and was just measuring out some sugar when my phone rang. My son wanted me to give him a ride to the shop he works at to go pick up his truck. Seems it's been sitting there since Friday when he fell at work and got a concussion. Oh really? And your just telling me now? This is when I heave a big sigh and say "OK, I'll be there in a minute".
Finally back home around 11:00am I got back to the cookies. I didn't quit until almost 6:00. Believe it or not I don't have them all done. I may be a little scarce around here this week trying to finish them up. It seems that the women Wade works with look forward to my cookie trays every year.
And now I end with a few ornaments from my tree.
See the little Westie ornament in the top right corner? Silly question, of course you do. Anyway, I bought that one Saturday when we were out running our errands. I saw it and couldn't resist it.

You did have a busy weekend! I'm glad your son is okay. You must make a lot of cookies! I'm sure all the recipients of your cookie trays love them!
Forgot to say the Duke ornament is adorable! :)
I love the Duke ornament, and the pretty sparkling snowflake!!! SO ironic that a person who manages a bakery is unable to make cookies!!! Guess you need to go to the bakery to get anything done, too bad you can't use it for personal baking!
The westie ornament is adorable...I'm glad there is a little bit of 'Duke' in the tree!!
Isn't it great how they wait until the LAST possible moment to tell us???? Glad he is ok.
Your DUKE Ornament is adorable! Love it!!
You are a VERY busy lady!!
Busy, Busy! We both had quite the busy weekend. Glad to go to work today to take a break, NOT!! This is the busiest time for me there too! Ah, can't wait for vacation!!
Oh, you did have a busy weekend and one different from what you had planned.
I haven't begun baking cookies... hopefully this week. Started Christmas cards last night but somehow only addressed a few. I don't think I will ever figure out how to accomplish things in a timely, un-frazzled manner!
of course my eyes went directly to the Duke ornament, and of course you had to buy it. adorable just like he is. i like the snowflake too. what a week end, no wonder you are ready for work. hope you have a great day and nos nasty customers.
I hope your son is OK Ann! Sounds like you had a busy weekend. I am loving all your pretty Christmas ornaments. All the snowmen below are so cute! And it does look like Duke and his brother had a nice visit! :)

Quit a busy weekend you had!
The snowflake looks nice in front of the light! the Westie ornament, at first, I thought it was Duke. Did you add the scarf? Just adorable!
Our kitties would be more than happy to come up there and help you redecorate your tree. They don't take directions very well, but they make up for it with raw enthusiasm.
Sounds like you've had a pretty busy weekend. The Duke ornament is totally adorable! Good for you for spotting that one :)
sometimes.. plans to do this and that does go haywire.. but you did manage to get a lot of baking done. I haven't started mine yet :D i am such a lazy lazy fella.
love the mister Duke on your tree ;)
Some of the best plans just don't work out. I can so relate. Well I still think you got a lot done.
The Westie ornament is adorable. I'll bet Duke likes it very much too.
have a terrific day. My best to Duke. :)
Glad your son is well.
Lordy but I do remember the Christmas cookie cooking marathons - they started right after Thanksgiving. We had a huge foyer that was separated from the living room by French doors - there was this long refectory table there - and that's where the cookie collection gathered. The radiator would be turned off so it became an indoor cooler - oh my the cookies - cream cheese, peanut butter, nuggets, fig bars, struffala, even hammentaschen (I know wrong holiday for them but they were loved by all and became an all year favorite). Oh yeah, and gingerbread people - not a biggie but some were done any way... I liked them...and then maybe some thumb cookies and a couple dozen macaroons even...oh yeah our house was cookie city. Every one wanted a big box of cookies for Christmas. My mother couldn't cook but boy could she bake!
Glad your son is okay. And you had to go back to work to rest! Love it.

I'm not happy about that Westie wearing a Liverpool football club scarf! :-)
Duke on the tree! How cute.
You know I am still thinking where is my cookie. I got some black walnuts to do some baking over the weekend.
Sure glad the son is all right. WE love that ornament of Duke. Our shirt arrived today and would you believe we haven't had time to open it. Shame on our Mom. We will get it open tomorrow for sure. Take care. She wants some cookies. Just kidding.
A busy weekend indeed, tis the season. Your Duke ornament is precious :)
And so goes the season...way too fast! Love the Westie..looks like Duke for sure! :D
I like the Duke ornament. Relaxing is always the one hardest thing to do, especially this time of year.
Have fun baking cookies! I haven't even started yet so you're way ahead of me!
I hate when you skip out on a party and they notice. Ugh. You must be a popular gal!
Love the ornament. We have a whole section of kitty ornaments that look like cats past. I call it the "dead cat section". Nice, eh?
