The other day I talked about the modeling paste I made to try in my art journal and I mentioned that I tried it out on something else.
I was curious to see how it would work if I brushed it on to a glass jar and it worked very well. I didn't take pictures along the way but it was a pretty simple project. I simply took an empty pizza sauce jar and brushed the modeling paste on. Once it was dry I painted over that with a glue/instant coffee mixture. I finished it off by wrapping jute twine around the top of it.
I liked the texture that the instant coffee added to the jar.
Once it was all done I went out and picked myself a little bouquet of dandelions.

This is awesome! I've never seen anything like it. Your mind is amazing!
You really are very creative! Hope you had a lovely Mother's Day!
It looks really awesome!
That turned out wonderfully rustic looking! A perfect vase for the dandelions!
OK! That's it! I am moving next door to you!!! ...:)JP
I know I have not stopped by in forever, but thought I would pop in and say hi :) This is a really cute project. Hope you had a nice Mother's Day. Pop over to my blog once in awhile. I miss chatting with you.
The dandelions look GREAT in that jar. Glad to see you put them to use and didn't just put weed eater on them. We get lots of dandelions in our yard, but I have yet to pick any of them... xox
Ann this is super cool...love it!
The flowers top this off. It made me think how many times we brought these in to our mothers as kids. Mine put hers in the kitchen window.
Cool recycling! I used to think dandelions are so annoying. Now I have second thought about them.
Great Job!!!
Perfect setting for the dandelions!
Paint made from glue and instant coffee, over a glue base? I will never understand these techniques...I get that gesso is a primer...but then I am lost. As always, I amazed at how your creative mind works.
I'm always very glad when experiments work! I'm so glad yours has turned out so well!
Wow, and this experiment worked very well. I love it.
Have a fabulous day. My very best to the little man Duke. :)
Country charm!
I don't know how you think these things up but it turned out wonderful!
That is just terrific. WE like that vase a lot and the dandelions make it just perfect. Good job. Have a great evening.
The combo look fabulous !!
I love it! Who knew what a great effect that would come of coffee, glue, and twine. You are so creative!
Oh my gosh - that was just beautiful!
Only you....
If I threw some paste, coffee and jute on a jar it would be a mess. You have such a knack, Ann!
Oh I love this, Ann! What a great project and now I want to try it :)
Hugs to Duke!
Whoa, that makes the jar look like it is plumb full of something. I don't know what it is, but it is certainly something!
This is really fun! It looks a bit like burlap...love it with the pretty dandelions in it!
