This is a picture of the hydrangea bush in my front yard. This is what it looked like last year. If you pluck off all those flowers that's what it looks like this year.
For some reason it didn't get one single flower on it this year.
to much water? not enough water? and our fruit trees, both of them did not do well this year. grapefruit are not edible and the avocado only had a third of the fruit and really small... something going on i think.. mother had 2 of these bushes and i loved them
Did you have an extremely cold winter? I know others have had the same thing happen with cold weather hitting the plant BEFORE it had a time to go dormant. It should come back after a year or two of 'regular' temperate zone winters. Maybe. LOL
I had one of those bushes once, and it would do the same thing. Some years, it just wouldn't bloom. It is pretty when it does though. We like what you did with Duke's toy. We know he would like it too. Have a great Saturday.
Awww, the same with our lilac bush! And many other flowering plants around here. I think it was the late frost after spring that did it. Maybe they will be better than ever next spring!
Well, isn't that interesting. Of the four hydrangeas we have, only one flowered while the Oak Leafs did great! We were planning on moving the ones that didn't flower to a location where they get only morning sun....:)JP
That's a bummer. I have an Azalea bush that didn't have any blooms this spring because it bloomed in October last year. Now it's all budded up and looks like it's going to do the same thing this year. Doggone thing has got it's seasons mixed up.

Did you cut it back? I know there were a lot of dead-looking stems after last winter, but it blooms on those old stems. I cut all of mine back in the spring, hence, no blooms. One is blooming now---which is really weird.
Well, you did specify that I had to use water, and you did get the watering service at a deeply discounted rate. Oh, and it is clearly stated in the contract (albeit in very small print) that I cannot be held responsible for the survival of any plant I have "watered."
It was so gorgeous last year. I understand they need a certain type of fertilizer each year to retain their color. Did you fertilize? If not, maybe that had something to do with it. I've never tried to grow them, but I LOVE them.

Mine all did good in the back, but not in the front yard.Must have been the seasons.
I have two hydrangea bushes, but only one had flowers, weird huh?
I wonder why? I don't have a green thumb. Not at all.

I know nothing about gardening so can't offer any insight but I do know that is probably my least favorite flower of all time...

that is too bad. I have no idea why it wouldn't bloom again. I would google it. lol
