Take advantage when you can

Around here it is starting to warm up but the cold weather isn't quite done with us yet so you take advantage of  a warmer when you can.

Monday was almost 60 and although it wasn't sunny it sure felt warm compared to what we've had. It was nice enough that I could go out with a light jacket instead of a winter coat.

Gibbs and I took a nice morning stroll. It was only 42 then but even that felt warm.

Due to some behavioral issues (thinking the carpet upstairs is for soaking up pee spots) I stayed out of my craft room all day. I so wanted to go play and work on my next art journal page but I can't leave him downstairs by himself and I can't take him upstairs where he's going to pee on the carpet the minute my back is turned.  I don't know what the deal is other than I apparently have lost my ability to house train a dog.

So glad you got to enjoy a (relatively) nice day! So sorry that Gibbs hasn't quite figured out what the great outdoors is for. Sure hope that happens soon!

Oh the things we do for our furbabies. :) Gibbs is blessed to have such a loving mommy. Hang in there. He'll come around. Here's hoping for you both more sunny days. <3

I'm so glad it is finally warming up in your area, Ann!
I'm sure little Gibbs will figure it out :)

Can you crate him when he is in the craft room until he learns not to pee in there?

It may still be chilly, but the sun is getting warmer. Have you noticed?

once they pee on the carpet, they will go there again.because male dogs like to pee on old pee. if you get rid of the smell he will not.. or so i have heard... crateing will stop that to. get a crate and take him up with you but in the crate.. i am just full of advice today. put my consult check in the mail

I have to agree. Crating him when you can't watch him. Maybe put a crate upstairs to and there are all kinds of products to get rid of the Pee smell. Good luck with it all.

Good Morning Ann, I had that problem with Butchy, I thought that I would never get him potty trained. Then my Vet said to use a kennel box. Start leaving him in it and only let him out to go outside and pee. Then give him a treat each time he did it. He might pee on your carpet, but he isn't going to pee on his own, LOL. Now, I didn't get Butchy until I was retired and home all day and I know you work, so this might not work for you, but it worked great on Butchy . . . he caught on pretty quick using this method. Good luck!

Oh my - that is a problem. Perhaps some of the advice here will help. You shouldn't have to chose between pleasures - Gibbs and your art work.

Glad you got to go for a walk outside Gibbs. Without all that snow that is.

You need to quit peeing in moms craft room. Okay? Good.

Have a woof woof day. My best to your hard working mom. ♥♥♥

Nothing against Gibbs...I love him!!! But, peeing on the carpet is just why we have cats. LOL

BUT...then there's cat vomit...hair balls. You can't win for losing...we love our pets!!!!!

You could use a crate for when you're at work. Just make it comfy and start him off for a short period of time like when you go to the store for a few. after going potty I would praise him and give him a treat. remember that bell on the door can be fun. :) what we do for our fur babies. :)

I have no advice but hope he stops doing that soon! What a pain in the patooty! Glad you were able to get out and enjoy some fresh air though!

Yucko Gibbs, once the scent is there it needs replenished. I have a pet door and all my critters go when they please.

There is a spray on product that's supposed to keep them from wanting to pee on that spot.
