I'm back

At least I hope so. Hopefully this month will not bring any surprises like last month did. We did call the cable company and although their highest speed package is cheaper than what we are paying now, their installation fee is almost $300. Occasionally they send offers in the mail for free installation so if we make the switch to cable for our internet it will be then.

So what have I been doing while I've been gone? Not much and certainly not anything that's exciting to write about. I did a lot of laying on the couch watching tv and reading.

I've gotten way behind on showing you index cards so today I'll catch you up a little with three of them.

Starting at the far left, I had a lot of fun with paint on this one. I started by covering the card with book pages and bits and pieces of magazine pages then I covered it in paint. The little tiny squares you see were made using drywall tape as a stencil. The circles were made using various sized caps dipped in paint and the black lines were done with a comb.

The middle one I painted then added bit of paint here and there and ran a comb through it in different directions. It gave it a very nice distressed look.

The one on the right was inked just a week bit with some stencils then I added the butterfly and flower stickers.

As always, your cards are so good! The artistic value AND the humor!!
I know once you get cable, with unlimited access you'll never wanna go back to anything else. It's worth every penny. Ya, it's wise to wait for 'free installation'....that charge is exorbitant!!

I totally agree with Hootin' Annie on this one...LOVE the artistic value AND the humor!! I have been having lengthy conversations with my cable company lately and it has not been pretty!! I threatened to completely cancel the whole thing and they try to offer me all sorts of things I am not interested in. At least I found out that if I cancel, it would be $38. to reconnect, but I would have to wait 90 days without any service at all! That would not work for me. I can always tether off my cell plan as I have a HotSpot, but it is not unlimited data. I use it as a backup! Fortunately I am only a couple of miles from Dunkin Donuts and if need be, I'll head on over there! These cable companies are taking everybody for a ride. So aggravating!!

As long as we're talking connectivity, I'll jump in. With WiFi here at home there is no limit on data regardless of device. Unfortunately, coming from the background I worked in, I do not trust "public" WiFi so do not use it. I used to in VA but picked up a few "virus" so I stopped. Although I have a few Gig on my cell plan, I try not to use it for blogging when I'm out and about....Now as far as your triple play goes...I love the one on the far right!...:)JP

Glad you are back. That is really expensive to get cable connected. Love the cards. They are terrific. We missed them. Have a great day.

I'm glad you're back too. I've missed your daily posts.

I always love your index cards. Our humor is so alike. I think many of the things you put on those index cards.

Have a fabulous day Ann. Big hugs to you and my very best to Gibbs. ♥♥♥

I was wondering whether your house was already wired for cable - it can be expensive to get that done. I do like that first card...

Yay, she's back! Did you get a straight answer from them about why you are burning through data so quickly? Something is not right there :O( Great cards, love the dry wall tape texture! Deb xo

I cannot imagine the cable company wanting to charge for installation--especially if you have had service there before. Are you sure that $300 wasn't more about an initial deposit all new and even returning customers are usually requited to make? When we looked into changing our service from Arlynda's mother's name back to ours, we were told that we would have to exchange the equipment and make another deposit. Sigh.
