The other day my oil change required warning came on in my car. I called a local garage to schedule an appointment for an oil change. I also asked him while he was at it if he could take care of my tires. I mentioned a while back that my low tire pressure light comes on frequently. I was told that they can clean up the rims and remount the tires and seal them. I dropped the vehicle off in the morning before I went to work on Tuesday and walked back to pick it up after work.
The last couple times I've needed anything I've gone to this garage. I was going somewhere else for a very long time but there were a couple incidents that made me decide not to go there any more. I'm pretty sure the last time I had an oil change at the other garage he charged me almost this much just for the oil change. This guy is really nice, does good work and has reasonable prices. I've also heard several people say you can trust him.
On a totally different note, I wanted to answer Andreas question from yesterdays post.
Her comment was: Is the ink for your Cricut as expensive as a regular printer? I'm guessing probably more than even a printer. The cricut machine doesn't print the image so there is no ink with it. When I do my print and cut design in Cricut's design space it first sends it to my regular printer and then I put it through my Cricut for it to cut the image out. That's why it has the look of a printer that is running out of ink because that's exactly what happened.

Great that you found a mechanic you can trust. I STILL don't understand the Cricut! But I do know they are a real fancy crafting machine.

My oil change alone is $80! Of course it lasts longer than regular oil...it's synthetic. Tires...that's expensive here too. But once purchased, maintenance is free. Hope the sealant works.

that is a lot of money to put out, but that is a very fair amount and would have cost 60 for the oil change here... he sounds like a jewel, so keep him. it is hard to find a trustworthy mechanic that doesn't take advantage.
i am thinking you download the pattern, print it from your printer and then run the paper through the cricut and it cuts out what you printed on your regualar printer. did I win the prize?

It is really nice to deal with someone that you think you can trust. I think that looks like a fair and reasonable price for what you had done.
I had assume your printer printed the things, then when I saw the other comment it made me wonder, too.
Trust is a huge issue, I'm delighted that you have someone to work on your car that you feel so good about. Some folks see a women coming in and they add costs that don't need to be added, just because they figure she'll never know.
what I find interesting on your invoice, is "did you pay by cheque (check)?" because here cheques are no longer being used!
Ink can get really pricey so its a good thing that you don't have to have it for what you do.
Ginny, I'm glad I made the switch. Both are close to home and work so I can drop the vehicle off in the morning and walk to work.
Cheerfulmonk it sure is. I kind of feel like the other guy was ripping me off because he thought I wouldn't know any better

Catherine, yes I did pay by check. He doesn't take credit cards only cash or check. Here checks are still used but not as much as they used to be.
Pam yes it is and it annoys me that it will dry up before I've actually used it all. I should print more often so I'm using it all up.
Good mechanics are hard to find. A friend told me years ago her son worked for a corporation that forced employees to try to sell you all this expensive stuff when getting an oil change. We needed a sensor changed and we scared it was going to be as high as all the other places who gave us a quote. The guy who is about three blocks from my house did it. It was not cheap but he had the best price and we have had no more troubles! We give him all our work these days. :-)
Sounds like a good garage to go to. It feels good when you get things done like that. I need an oil change.
