We've had a couple of rain showers since the peonies bloomed and they are now done for. They did last longer than usual though with the help of the cage around them to keep them standing straight.
In the pictures there are still plenty of petals on the flowers but now they are totally gone.

What a shame. A couple of weeks ago there was a beautiful lilac bush not far from where I live and they were gorgeous. Then we had a couple of hot and humid days and they shriveled and died.
Aww, but at least you have photos! My roses lost all petals due to rain too.
agree with at least you have photos. it seems the prettier the flowers, the faster they die. weeds last much longer. trust me I know about weeds. they are the only flowers we have unlike what we used to have.
Some flowers seem to last forever, while others bloom briefly, like the day lilies.
I wish peonies would last longer! The cage is a good idea.
This is the way my roses looked after we had so much rain. Sad to see them like that
A short but glorious burst of beauty!
They did put on a most beautiful show for you....and love living in your yard
Happy Friday to you and Mr. Gibbs

The day the peonies drop their blossoms ranks right up there with a bad peach as one of life's biggest disappointments.
Your peonies remain beautiful even with the rain. We had a doozy of a storm yesterday and it is still raining here.
They do get battered easily. But beautiful while they're flourishing.
They are pretty but don't last long enough. :)
