I took off Monday September 22. I had had an audiologist appointment scheduled since before I started my job.
My appointment went well and she did another hearing test and even said that my hearing has actually improved. She thinks it's because I've been wearing well working hearing aids and they are helping my brain process sounds better.
After I left there I had some time to kill before I had another appointment at Monro Auto service. My vehicle has been getting pretty loud and I knew the muffler would need to be replaced. Turned out that they didn't have the parts in stock so I had to go back that Saturday to have the work done. I'm pretty sure they overcharged me A LOT but I just wanted it done and the convenience of being able to get it done on a Saturday instead of taking a day off was a plus.
So anyway, in between appointments I decided to stop for lunch.

That's great news about your hearing, and I would never have guessed the restaurant. :)
I am really happy to hear this, Ann. As soon as I saw the red and white, I knew it was KFC.
Goo dnews all round, though perhaps a little hard on the purse. Worth it, to feel relaxed about driving, though.
Glad you'll be getting the car fixed. Always costs too much, doesn't it! I wouldn't have known the inside of the restaurant, but do like chicken--lol! ;)
KFC, I love them! But ours has gone really downhill and no one goes there anymore. Especially since Popeye's opened right across the street. I did not know this about how your hearing can get better with hearing aids! Phil has tried three different kinds with no luck. What a pain a simple muffler change can be!
Are you enjoying being out and working again? It takes getting used to when you don't work, even if its a happy retirement
How cool is it that your hearing has improved. Like that, very, very cool. Do you ever get the slaw? I'm a slaw fan. I get that it's too stinky for some though. Before and after. Hahahaha.
well done on the improved hearing. I'm convinced mine aren't working properly, my aids that is. I know my ears aren't.
our KFC is tiny, only about 8 tables, once in a while I drive through and bring it home
YAY you can hear us now!! What a wonderful report from the audiologists. I like poultry too
Car stuff is right up there with techie stuff

Today marks 1 year of having hearing aids. They are the cheap kind but what a difference to finally hear conversations and the tv without blasting Dave out of the room.
Great results on you aids.
Cars ... don't even get me started. It just seems that the dollars fly out of my checkbook as fast as they go in. Glad you can get it fixed though.
KFC is so horrible in our town that we have never gone back after undercooked chicken and wilted slaw...ugh. I used to love their fried chicken. It was a go to for us.. sigh...

I guess KFC is everywhere! I love there chicken too. Glad you got your muffler fixed. And really glad that your hearing is better. Keep on with the hearing aides.
Good to have your muffler fixed and good news about your hearing getting better. The red and white gave KFC away. :)
That’s great news about your hearing. Maintaining cars can be expensive. We had a KFC not far away. They turned it into a Popeyes. We ate there for the first time the other day. Fried chicken made a nice change.
Convenience means a lot sometimes. I love chicken, too.
