I've had problems with my front door. It's been very difficult to lock and when I do get it locked it gives me hard time unlocking it.
I bought a new doorknob and asked my son if he could change it for me.
I told him I didn't even buy the cheapest one they had like I normall do.He came over to change it out and he had a terrible time. Then once he had it on it didn't want to latch. My door is old like original with the house old. He fixed it well enough that it will now latch and lock but looks like next year I'll be buying a new door.
I was going to try and do this myself and after seeing how much trouble he had I'm glad I didn't. I never would have been able to do what he did.

Doorknobs are harder to install then you would think, for sure. I'm glad you will be safe now, and not get locked out either!
We got locked in once and had to call a locksmith!
I remember when we installed new doorknobs on our current house when we first moved in. Ugh!
Wow, such hard work...doors aren't cheap by any means. Hope this new knob will do alright for a while. Yay, for sons coming to the rescue.

Thank goodness for a Handy Son. I would never be able to change a lock either

Yes, they are way harder than you expect to change. Glad your son was able to figure it out! :)
Glad your son was able to get the new door knob installed.
Hi Ann, long time no see! I'm back to blogging for the month of November for NaNloPoMo. It's great making my rounds reconnecting with everyone. I've missed you! Oh and I'm glad your son was able to fix the door knob for you :)
I'm glad your son could help. We were having trouble with ours, a nuisance and a worry that we could get locked out. But I tried a few drops of liquid wrench before talking to our manager, and it works like a charm now. It's exciting when I lock and unlock it. Feels like a miracle.
