Yesterday sure did feel like fall was knocking on the door. It was cool and rainy and the perfect day to lounge around and do whatever I felt like.
I parked myself on the couch in front of the TV and had a little itching to try some stitching. I didn't finish it yet so I won't show you what it is just yet.
Duke not only kept me company and watched over me so that I didn't hurt myself with my needle, he also kept watch out the window to make sure all was right in his world.
Wade and I did venture out to the grocery store and had dinner at Red Lobster. We thought we were being smart by going early but I suppose because of the rain everyone else had the same idea.

A laid back weekend. I was shown how to make friendship bracelets this week with the floss.
Woof! Woof! That was a really short break you had ... Anyway DUKE is doing a great job. Lots of Golden Woofs, Sugar
Sometimes rainy days are nice as they give you the perfect opportunity to stay indoors and relax with comforting projects. In the UK however we had brilliant sunshine and this was great too as I got to spend the whole day in the garden!!
Hi Ann, Seems like we're getting the rain back today also, it has been lovely sunshine for a few days. I am slowly getting back to life also, not fully recovered but at least I can sit up by my desktop and perhaps do some work later. Enjoy your Sunday!
Red Lobster? Oh, YUM! Every once in a long while, I'll get a low grade urge to do needlepoint (thankfully, it passes fairly quickly *laugh*).
you did what i would do, snapped pics of your glasses and needles... and of course my man Duke the guard dog... we dread the week after Thanksgiving, that is when the snow birds from the north come and our restaurants and streets are jammed with waiting at lights tripled and no seats in the restaurant. but it is good for our economy
I wish it could get cool here so I can enjoy my heated cat cup again!
Sounds like a relaxing Saturday! It was cooler and rainy here. This morning its foggy. We're going to get 80 degree temps again this week, so fall is being fickle, LOL.
I wish it were getting cooler here! I can not wait to see what you made!
We have lots of rainy days here and that's when I usually get a lot of sewing done! How nice that Duke kept watch in the meantime :)
I've been stitching this week, too. I look forward to seeing what you're making.
Love the photos! Can't wait to see what you're stitching. :)
We went to Red Lobster too - it is always busy and yet it is so expensive.
When I was a little girl we ate at Red Lobster every Friday. It's always been a favorite of mine. :) Yummy! Glad you're totally relaxing!
You are so lucky to have Duke to protect you from those dangerous needles! I can't wait to see what you made.
That sounds like a perfect way to spend the day. Hopefully, we'll get that kind of weather here, soon. Since I had the weekend basically free from teaching, I was in the kitchen creating a few new recipes. Since no one has ended up in the ER, I'll take that as a good sign :)
I'm having a lazy day like that today after a few days of traveling and being busy...and more of the same in a few days.
Rainy days are good for the soul!...:)JP
Sounds like a perfect weekend to me. Especially having dinner out. No work.
Have a terrific day. My best to our fearless Duke. :)
I just stopped by to say hallo.
I love rainy days. They are good for catching up on things indoors as well as your reading and napping. Sounds extra good when you said you went out for dinner. :)
Bring on the rain!
I must say, you DO capture some of the best photos of Duke. Y'all know I'm in love with him anyway, don't you?!!!
Embroidery...golly, I haven't done that in ages. Whatcha making? You're such a tease...showing us your colored threads then not even giving us a hint as to what it is. Bummer.
Rain? What's that?
The weather is cool and crisp here in Michigan..After seeing you are in the mood for needle work I may dig out some of mine. Duke looks like he may be day dreaming.:)
Rain, rain, we had rain for 3 days in a row and now it feel like Fall. love duke looking out the window.
