For as long as I can remember I've been a crafter. Over the years I have made so many different things for all the holidays. Some have survived some haven't. Some I still have but never pull out because they just look so bad but yet I keep them. Who knows why. Any way, when Amanda pulled out some of the boxes Saturday I found one that I made quite a few years back. I think I made one of these for each of the girls I worked with and a few other people as well. This was made from a glass mayonaisse jar so you know it was a few years back since they don't use glass jars any more.
He has actually held up pretty good over the years but you can see that the votive candle holder stuck in the top got a bit dirty while in storage. Wish I would have thought to clean that before I took the picture. Every year one of the girls at work tells me that she still has that reindeer jar that I made her.

I love Rudolph!! I wish I'd kept more of the things I made in the past.

Oh it's so sweet- you did a great job painting its face - I'm not so good with a paintbrush!
I always enjoy the old ornaments the best. They have a variety of good memories of past holidays.
rudolf the red nosed reinjar is adorable...you are soooo talented.
That is so cute! I am still trying to make the wreath from paperback books....not going very well....
Oh that's so cute Ann. I think it's adorable. You should always put him out. Just saying.
Have a terrific day. My best to Duke. :)
That is just delightful - If I had one of those I would definitely have it out - probably all year round - Just makes ya smile...
I know I keep saying this but you are just so darn talented! Our youngest daughter does crafts and makes hand made jewelry and all sorts of things just like you do.
I am envious. I can sit and stare at directions for a crafting from now until doomsday. I would never get it completed correctly.
Crafting is a true gift and an art form I truly love. And you certainly have the touch.
And as for the little smudges on the votive it actually enhances the photo for me. The age and use of it are revealed.
Happy day!
Jackie:-)
Absolutely marvelous my dear (<-- lol), as always. You are truly gifted Ann. As others have said, I can have the material and the instructions and still not turn out such awesome pieces. You are amazing! :)
PS. What paint do you use for glassware? Thanks!
Adorable face...I bet you are a good gift giver....:)
How cute! I never would have guessed that you used a jar to make that.
That is absolutely adorable. What a wonderful job!
How cute! You did a great job on this. I love different Christmas crafts.

How cute! What fun to pull this little guy out - it is a testament to how well you made rudy that people are still telling you they have one that you made for them! I love pulling out our ornaments and selecting which ones to put on our tree each year.
Hugs, antonella :-)
Rudolph is adorable!
AH---how cute... This is the kind of ornaments/decorations I LOVE.... That one is adorable.
Hugs,

Aren't you supposed to save your kids' crafts?? ;) Oh, I have a few of my own projects that I save. For years, my friend and I would make teacher gifts together. That way, we'd save some money, but we'd have nice gifts for everyone. I still have those reminders from a great era. I miss that friend sometimes too.
this is so cute!
Love the reindeer. I had one similar years ago. Unfortunately I lost many of my favorite Christmas decorations in my divorce several years ago. But I've been having so much fun making and buying new ones!
Cute! Is is just a candle holder, or was there something else in the jar?
