I'm on a roll. I did the second day of my 3 days a week walking. I didn't time anything this time though. I knew it took 3 laps around the park the first time so I went around 3 times and alternated between walking fast ans walking slow. Maybe once I get more used to it I'll do more laps.
Have you ever heard of fitbit? I've been wanting to get one. It's an activity tracker that can even track your sleep.. One of the ladies at work has one and she really likes it. There are different kinds and this picture doesn't show all of them.
Last but not least another church sign

That sign is great! Yes, fitbit is popular here too :)
Is Fitbit the one with an alarm that goes off when you have not been active enough? No, that's probably Jawbone (hence, the name).
Good job Anne...even I have been thinking of starting cycling again!

Cheering you on Ann!
Great sign too!
debby in Texas just bought one and so did her mom and daughter, they track their steps each day, she is up to 80,000 per day... that is all i know about the fit bit.
Like the church marquee!!
And the trackers are okay, but a nuisance at times. I had one, kept forgetting to put it on, and when I did, I showered and forgot about it...NOT waterproof. At least mine wasn't LOL
I think you need the watch, but the color will define your outfits to wear when working out.
A church with a sense of humor! Love the sign.
Way to go on the walking. Great in fact. You can do it.
Yes I've heard of Fitbit and I'm guessing you'll have one shortly. Go for it.
Love the church sign. Totally rocks.
Have a fabulous day. My best to Gibbs. ♥♥♥
Let me know how the walking thing goes 'cause I need to get my butt off my sewing machine chair and do something ... of course we are members of the Y which I haven't been to yet.
Have a great weekend ...K
That sign is great!!
I like the idea of the fitbit...but I would probably be depressed by how little activity showed up on it!
Oh my goodness I LOVE the church sign! I think you should definitely try out the fitbit (mostly so you can tell the rest of us - who are still sitting on the fence about it - whether or not we actually want one. *grin*
That sign is funny! :) Great job on your walking! I have a Fitbit and know it can be a great motivator for some. Actually I have a friend that's obsessed with it and will walk around her bedroom at night until she hits the 10,000 steps and then immediately gets in bed to go to sleep. That's nuts! I wear mine every day and do my best to get more steps. With your job, you'll have no problem getting 10,000 steps a day so you'll have to up the ante for it to motivate you!
I love the church's sense of humor! that would draw me to attend. :)
I;ve thought about getting a fitbit, I think I would like it. maybe they would give us one for free for feedback on our blogs. :)
Hi, I may have told you this but George and I bought FITBITs about a month ago... They sync with our food journal (My Fitness Pal)... SO--we are not only working on our exercise --but also working on our weight.....
George has lost about 12 pounds since starting this program. I haven't lost much --but I don't have much to lose now... I am just trying to maintain --and to get healthier through the exercise.
Ours are the FITBIT HR's --so that we can test our heart rates when we exercise... This little gadget keeps up with steps, miles, calories burned (so that we know how much we can eat without gaining), floors (which for us are HILLS up and down), heart rate, sleep efficiency (a real eye-opener), etc...
In a word or two: We LOVE ours.... IF you have any other questions, please ask.
Hugs,
Betsy
Hi Ann, I don't have a Fitbit but my friend Leslie does. She loves it and says the 3rd one in your pic is worth the extra $. At her job there is a fitbit club and they have weeekly contests & prizes. Now that I know it syncs with My Fitness Pal (love!), I may put fitbit on my Christmas wish list. Keep up the good work!
Joe has a fitbit...it was suggested to the employees where he works. If he walks a certain amount each day, they get cash at the end of the year. Last year, he averaged over 10,000 steps and he got a check for over $400.00.
I doubt the fitbit would do me any good because I am a swimmer. :(
You go girl! And great sign again, someone at that church has a great sense of humour!
I hear those gadgets really help some people. If you get one let us know how it works for you.
Good for you! I started walking a couple months ago… went twice and stopped. I must get back to it, gained too much weight in the last year or two not to try again! Maybe you'll inspire me!! :)
