Gift giving

I have always been bad at gift giving. It's not that I don't like to give them, I'm just not very good at picking them out. Even when I come up with what I think is a great idea something goes wrong. It is either not available or totally out of my price range.

Then there are the people that I just plain don't know what to get them. They have everything they need or they're very particular and difficult to buy for.

At this point I'm wondering where exactly I was planning on going with this post and I really have no clue. This would be a good time to insert a picture that I took from Snappygoat.com and did a little edit to.

What would you consider the perfect gift to receive from a friend or coworker?

Something a friend actually MAKES is of great value to me. That they spent their time to put their talent into it means a lot. So you would have more gifts to choose from then anyone! Speaking of that, do you sell the items that you show on your blog? I have seen many that I love and would like to buy, but have not asked.

It's always nice to receive a gift that is hand-made or a gift of food. I usually give my brother a box of chocolates that he can share with his family during the holiday.

cash in a card or amazon gift card. other gift cards depend on the person, amazon has every thing. i don't like getting gifts, can you tell? i am picky picky and when i get one it sits in the closet until i can re gift it. Sandra Grinch

That is a very scary picture! I prefer giving gifts to getting gifts...Choosing the exactly right gift probably brings me more pleasure than the giftee feels when receiving it. If you are giving the gift then anything you made would absolutely delight me no end; anyone else, well, See's candy works for me every time.

I am the LAST person to ask that cause I love everything I get! Esp...handmade things. Maybe that is why I have so much stuff....I like everything! Loving your pic of the cat. Nice....

What about your craft items? Candy is always nice. Do you bake at all, cookies are a nice gift.

Something you made! You make so many cute, beautiful things! One of your bracelets, maybe, if it's for a female or like others mentioned a gift card.

For our work exchange we are doing handmade gifts. However I've been informed that whoever's name I get, a set of mysteries is considered handmade! Guess I've been told.

It's either a total hit or a total miss with me. I always think very differently from others, so I give "odd" presents apparently. Okay...I've learned over the years to be more "mainstream." Now, I sort of start looking and listening around Fall and try to come up with something my recipients need/want and I try to order it early.

That said, we have also eliminated a lot of gifts from the list. We don't buy for a ton of people anymore. Thank goodness.
