For most today is the start of a long weekend. Not for me since I work Sunday but I do have Monday off since it's my regular day off.
The best part is that since the holiday falls on my regular day off I get another day off during the week. This time around he gave me Friday which means that next weekend I have 2 days in a row off. I am very excited about that.
If you live here in the U.S. do you have any special plans for the holiday weekend? If you live elsewhere, what are you going to do this weekend?

Rain is in the forecast for the entire weekend, so planning anything is iffy. I still have garden work to get done and can't because it has rained for weeks!
Besides that...I bought tix to see "A Chorus Line" in the city. I LOVE that show. My family hates it (even though Em hasn't seen it) because I sing all the songs for weeks after I see it.
Glad you have some time off! Sweet!
Ah, when you are retired every day is a holiday and long weekends are infinite, if you even remember what day of the week it is.
We are staying home this weekend. Boating on a holiday weekend is not that fun. Everyone is taking up every square inch and they have to drink to excess. Not fun at all.
I'm glad you have two days off in a row next weekend. That rocks.
Have a fabulous day, Ann. Big hug to you and lots of scritches to Gibbs. ♥
I am full of joy that you get two days in a row and also have the holiday off even if it is your reg day off. I think I will buy a bag of chips and have burgers. OR go to culvers... less calories at home and we are going to Culvers today because yesterday we missed LUNCh while trapped in the hospital
Is this in your yard? It is really lovely. I do not want to drive very far because of the awful traffic today. Maybe tomorrow we will go somewhere out of town for a day of shopping.
Traffic is backed up here already! A mile away is our neighborhood store. Accident on freeway...they diverting traffic to OUR area. OMG...I'm staying home. CRAZY. Enjoy your extra day next week.
I'm so happy you have an extra day off. I wish you had a lot more!
No special plans, but I do hope one day to sleep as long as I want....just one morning is all I ask for. LOL
? for you...when you know you are getting an extra day off, do you get so excited thinking about all you want to do that you can't sleep the night before. Therefore are too tired to do any of it that day? That was how I became the last few years I worked...it was much better if I went in to work and got to come home unexpectedly. LOL
Glad you are getting the extra day off. We aren't doing much of anything. John is a chaplain here and so is on call for the next three days/nights. Let's hope it is a quiet holiday. xo Diana
I haven't even looked at the forecast to see what the weather is supposed to be like. I do need to get out and do some yard work though.
Enjoy the show
I'm looking forward to infinite weekends some day
I think that is the worst thing about holidays. People feel the need to drink like there's no tomorrow. I can think of better ways to celebrate and have fun without getting stupid drunk
It's an old picture and I can't remember where I took it but I know it isn't in my yard.
Yep, staying home sounds like a good plan. I hate traffic
Thanks, I wish I had a lot more too
no long w/end here in my region in New Zealand - but it's one of those drop dead gorgeous days - a rather thick fog to start with then the sun came out and buzzed it all away...took off on one of my rummage/find trips AND now back home, going to be doing some art making tomorrow...
That will be nice having that extra day. Hope you have a nice weekend. Mark gets home from his fishing trip Sunday night. We have no plans but I did buy hot dogs and buns for Monday. It really isn't a day to party, it's a day of remembrance but a cookout is always fun. Oh no, I forgot to buy potato salad. Maybe I can do that before the airport on Sunday!!!
No special plans! Same old same old. Yeah for having two days off in a row!
